At this stage:

Josh Smilie is considered top be in Top 5 contention, potentially Top 2. For mine he is a bit of a barometer for where this draft group is at; I think in another year he would be more a pick 8 - 15. His point of difference from others at the top end is his size as a midfielder (194cm). It is interesting to compare the video from last year to this year in the same competition; I think he looks a bit more mobile than last but I still think it is a bit of a weakness. His kicking is also better I think but still think it is a bit in the average category.

For mine best traditional small forward is Isaac Kako; kicks a lot of goals and creates a lot of opportunities (more so than the others in that category).

Watched the beginning of Kako's 7 goal game. Somewhere in the second quarter scoreline was 77 points to 1.

I want us to find a seriously good small forward but am also happy to have Delean and Simpson developing.

And I have also liked the look of Managh who Geelong grabbed; mature small forwards are worth considering at the right time.

A specialist forward, I think we have done better with Balla and Walters.
Players who have midfield craft but are too small for permanent mids.

When I searched his name , it is coming up as town Benalla in Victoria

I am pretty wary too about big sized midfielders bullying their way through but to his credit I think he is using his size a lot more effectively this year than last; I've liked his positioning and inside work a lot more this year so far.

NT small forward / mid playing for Gippsland Power and is a Melbourne academy player. Hasn't had too much impact scoreboard wise yet but kicked a few last year (about a goal a game), decent tackling numbers also.

He kicked the first from midfield, then was swung forward in the last quarter with East Freo chasing the game. So all those touches you see in Q4 were as a forward, albeit he roams around quite a bit and pushes up the ground.

I imagine you mean small forwards given Amiss and Treacy seem like a nice duo for the future.

The most obvious would be Malakai Champion, which would come with the added bonus of pinching someone from the Eagles NGA. Didnt have his best game in round 1 of the Colts but he's too good not to be a big player in this draft season.

A couple of names to keep an eye on from over in the east are Joe Berry for Murray who's started the season well, and Isaac Kako from Calder who at this stage I would have as the number 1 small forward prospect.

Thanks mate, you are putting in a power of work on these vids. For mine here:

• I would hazard a guess to say he has A LOT of work to do on fitness the way he moved like he was gassed every time
• Disposal seems very questionable though he can roost it clearly
• Loved the aggression for the contest
• I think he has a decent burst of speed off the mark but can’t quite tell against WAFL colts opposition
