Adelaide Bite sack their new imported manager Charlie Aliano after just 2 series, with a 2-6 record. Speaking to people closely associated with the SA baseball community last week during the series it was clear that this was going to happen, apparently everyone hated him and no of the local boys wanted to play for the Bite while he was the coach. Seemingly he got offside with all the local boys by filling the team with Americans for the sake of their nationality rather than their ability.

Just back from Aces 13-1 drubbing. Phew talk about a hiding. 4 runs in the 1st and 6 in the 9th. Pretty impressed with Bite 1B Jacobs and SS Ben Lodge. Bad fielding cost them runs early and batters seemed to swing at everything.Trapp and Schlehuber(?) looked ok for Aces.

Mistakes from the start. I wore a hot dog costume for nothing. Something has to change fast otherwise by the end of the season the stands will be empty.

Hi from Taichung, Taiwan - the Cavs just made the finals of the Asia series - in a fantastic game against the Korean champions that went to extra innings - Canberra player Jack Murphy hit the first home run of the entire Asian series!! Great achievement by the whole team including Mike Ekstrom and Mitch Denning and Brendan Wise.

Canberra born players have also been playing great - especially old man Perkins and young fella Wellsy!!

Didn't just win either, absolutely destroyed them, maybe a 1 game final but doesn't get much more convincing than that.

What a game today, lost 18-13. Also two disputable umpire calls. One where the home umpire wasnt even looking or even close to the play

Perth sweep Canberra a week later Canberra sweep Perth. Can't split the 2 will be an interesting play off series. Mind you I wouldn't want to play Melbourne or Sydney in the 2 v 3 playoff

Melbourne are not the same team that graced (or more disgraced) the field 12 months ago. Something has changed, and changed for the better. The new players are really doing well, Casteel, Schlehuber, Burns, Zawacki and Flores to name a few. The next 8 games are against the Heat, if we can win 4 or more games it will be a success. Looking forward to the remaining few series, who knows what could happen, may even get a home final.

The better position we are in come our next two home series will determine crowd numbers. Will be interesting to see what happens.

.
huge upcoming series for the Aces back to back against the heat. If they can split them they'll have earnt the right to feel like they're a chance. If they were to get blown away then it may be curtains.

Halfway through the series Aces vs Heat.
Perth have won 3.
Although 3 games have been close, with Heat taking two of these games.

The Aces have the home ground advantage now, hoping it helps in some way.

Walk off last night, so a great start:)

Last night was a good win, and showing if we are down in the 9th that we are still a chance. It comes down to our fielding and not giving errors and easy runs.

It brings the 8 game series to 3-2, a win tonight and either one of the other two games and it would be a positive result. If we can win all then we will be equal with Perth.

We can keep doing ourselves a favour, it is just coincedence if you win and we help you. It is almost now a three horse race instead of a two, although we are still a short distant behind the front two.

Was disappointed Mike Ekstrom went home before I got to see him pitch for the Heat, would have been good to watch. If he'd stayed on the whole series you could have just about penciled in Game 1 of whatever play-off series he was in.

That was a pretty good round for Perth, Canberra lose a home series to the bit whilst Perth split an away series. Dreading what's going to happen when we have the 4-game run in Canberra though. Must do better than when we got swept in the 3-game stand.
