Will there be any football competition in Mackay this year?
1st Game Anzac Day Weekend between Magpies and hawks on sat night with the annual city country game on the Friday following the swans and lions NEAFl game.

Word Going around Moranbah are favourites for the flag with some good recruits and minimal player losses with the swans saints and hawks following. Good to see the Bulldogs also fielding a reserve side for the first time which means a 4 team reserve comp.

Interesting to see how the Preseason carnival goes this weekend.

Excellent. ..thanks!

Word is Bakers a Creek new coach is already very unpopular, rubbed up a few opposition coaches & League officials the wrong way, shooting his mouth off with very little delivered so far.

Young gun Hawks player Nabako Stowe wanted a change in scenery & joined Bakers Creek which then Hawks had a hissy fit & put pressure on Nabako to return which he did.
Very hypocritical by the Hawks considering Half their team are former Bakers Creek players.

I heard Moranbah have picked up a few guns & haven't losses anyone of any significance & fancy themselves to be serious premiership contenders, also heard they will only field a reserves team for home games?

Whitsunday Sea Eagles aren't fielding a reserve team this season apparently?
Seniors have had a few in & out according to the clearances.

Swans & Saints have lost a few & picked up a few.

Magpies should be more competitive, new lights & change rooms soon to be completed will help.

Hawks are still the team to beat.

Can't see much changing from last year at this stage except for Moranbah to swap with Swans ladder position.

The pre-season carnival in Airlie Beach this year seems to be a much no better concept than years gone by.
A group of teams playing in the morning & the other group playing in the arvo which means less time between games & you dint have to hang around all day to play your required games.
Won't be able to make it unfortunately but should be a good day.

Are you pulling the boots on again Prez?

And as if the hawks don't already have enough players, their Prez has gone to Vic this week recruiting. Can you confirm or deny Roaring Tiger ?

Can confirm FOTC trying to get some late recruits to replace the 10 players we have lost from last years premiership team. Looking to fly them in and qualify them for the finals at the very least.

BD you have no idea, nabs said he wanted to go and play at bakers. Obviously some people were a little disappointed but we all respected his decision as that was what he wanted to do. His clearance was granted straight away. 2 weeks later he obviously had a change of mind and came back to training. We happily excepted him back once he informed us he wanted to stay. No pressure was placed on him at all. Perhaps you should worry about your club getting 2 teams on the park!!

Pretty good game of footy considering the conditions. Country team up most of the day, city hit back hard late to snatch lead. Country had chance to win game with 20 seconds to go but kicked a point to level scores about 20 metres out. 9 - 12 66 to 8 - 18 66. Brad Smith BOG for city & Nick Proud best for country team.

No game on Saturday night to start the season between Hawks and Magpies due to Harrup Park being unavailable. Who will get the points?? considering bakers creek's oval was available to be used.

Magpies should get the points, as last season hawks were handed points against saints when zeolea park was under water.
Magpies get the points cos Hawks ground unplayable, at short notice!!!!! You live in a dream world if you think that will ever happen, 2 sets of rules remember.

The correct team got the points last year, saints ground was fine to play on was a little wet but that's aussie rules, it is a winter sport. you blokes didn't want to play cause half your senior team were going to a wedding.

Absolute crap, but don't you worry about letting the facts get in the way of a good story.
