Up until this year with Prowse (after being ignored last season) and a lesser extend Mueller and Goodwin you would say only Charlton (who has since stagnated) was the only 18-20 year old player that was properly fast tracked and showed signs of reaching a high level quickly.I've been saying for years that not backing in young players that have gone through a full elite junior pathway will backfire on us.
ALL of our draftees should be playing as often as possible every single year, especially if we're only taking 1-2 18 year olds
The club going after a 36 year old in Bonner in the top-up draft showed all you need to know, wasted exercise playing that 36 year old too, should not be offered a new deal, done nothing someone from the local league couldn’t have done this season.
