Offering $1.01 that either GTA Vice City or San Andreas will be #1. Takers?

Absolutely no question in my mind they will be in the top 3, there's a huge GTA crowd on these boards. Personally, I don't think those games have aged well at all.

I won't be surprised if they are either.

It's weird on the aging comment. I've gone back and played both this year and I found Vice City was still the same game I adored 11 years ago (still my favourite), I'd found that I was frustrated with what some of San Andreas had to offer.

For me Vice City still holds up, and if either win they will be worthy winners as they were absolutely ground breaking at the time.

The weird thing is that at the time Vice City was probably the least revolutionary of the three, but because of nailing the era and setting it has aged the best.

My main problem with those 3 games is the control and gameplay on-foot. Everything else is great, but everything feels very clunky on-foot, mainly the aiming and the AI is very ordinary.

I'm still stuck in the same place with Vice city as I was in 2005. The mission is the fastest boat and no matter what I do I crash and my boat blows up lol. Still I love all the GTA games.

One thing I've noticed with the list is that it seems to be a mixture of games that have held up really well, as well as those that were brilliant for the time but you're unlikely to go back and play now and have the same experience. It's a nice mix.

I've been buried under depressing football results and less importantly uni work, so haven't had a chance to compile the info for the first ten games. Will have it done and posted by tonight. :thumbsu:

Just realised I think I forgot to vote for one of my favourite games ever :( Hope others voted for Super International Cricket on SNES.
Not going to give anything away about whether it finished in the top 100 or not but it did receive votes. :thumbsu:

Yeah same. My issues with San Andreas were all control issues mainly. With Vice City I was fine because it locks you in one spot with almost every gun. San Andreas has a full movement so with an archaic (although passable at the time) system it has struggled to get me to come back to it.

As for the AI, most PS2 era games have average AI. MGS games are the only ones I can remember having a higher level of AI. Resi 4 could also be sighted as an example.

Dannnnnnnnnn did you use 'appeared on' as your tiebreaker?
I did. I spent a while trying to decide between using the number of lists and the average points per list as the tiebreaker. The argument for using average points is that it means it was more highly rated by those that voted for it, however I decided that it also means that more people didn't rate it in their top 25 games.

I'll be honest... I've never played Crash Bash before...

Good list so far though!
It's okay, I think I counted only 56 games on the list that I've played. :p

Crash Bash is a brilliant game. It gets pretty difficult and frustrating at points but boy I love it. Stands up incredibly well, even now. If you still have a PlayStation and can get your hands on it, definitely give it a shot. :thumbsu:

Only really worked as a multiplayer game IMO, and in that sense it was a really fun game without being outstanding (CTR was a better at both single and multi for mine) but for someone who has never played it and has the chance is worth the time to see for yourself.
