More or less, I agree on all of the albums listed by the BBC as overrated. How does this marry up with the Big Footy list?

I agree on a few of these...
There are actually a lot of people who criticse the Beatles for being too derivative of artists like Chuck Berry and Buddy Holly, and I myself actually own only Are You Experienced (and for me Hendrix’ voice is an acquired taste), Marquee Moon and a few downloads from Led Zeppelin IV.It's got a very British slant this list. I dislike the Smiths as much as I dislike Radiohead, perhaps even more, so my bias is clear. Coldplay are just (expletive), never understood the love for Pet Sounds to be honest. Although I don't love U2, they are a very good band and The Joshua Tree is the album that launched them into the stratosphere of the world's last super group so if anything I would say that's IMHO is probably the harshest. It's difficult to critisize the Beatles, so I won’t.
The British slant is definitely real, and may reflect the tastes of Australian audiences as well as the fact that record company promotion has always been done much more deeply in Europe than in North America.
