It's good a 'non popular' honest footballer won it though.
Still hope for Cotchin to win a brownlow in future years, seems umps like players who cant kick for s**t.

Who cares now. We should be looking at how many Votes Cotchin will take to win the Brownlow next season 
I wouldnt call Cotch having a great year by any stretch yet he still polled pretty well and continues to rack up the votes. I am adamant he will win one in his career.

Priddis was number one in the comp for disposals, number 2 for clearances and number 2 for tackles....
yeah, wouldn't it suck to have an overrated player like Priddis in our midfield. :-\
I'd rather Fyfe or J.Kennedy, I'd even prefer Parker. Priddis isn't even in the top 10 for midfielders IMO

Initially I was disappointed with how the Tigers polled. But on reflection I thought. If anyone thinks that there isn't a Tiger player, particularly in the leadership group who wouldn't give the Charlie a very distant 2nd place to a Premiership isn't really thinking. We are putting together a team who can contribute evenly to the ultimate goal. That goal flys in the face of individual awards. It doesn't completely oppose it but does move in a different direction to individual standouts. Having said that, there are always exceptions...
God I hate the Brownlow. Since our last one every proper team's won it bar us, some multiple times. And that includes when we were playing in GFs and making the top 4. It's like a conspiracy, even the frickin Bears and Suns have won one.

Matt Priddis is one of the most underrated midfielders in the comp, possible the most underrated. Becuase he doesnt have the speed like Judd, the skills of Ablett, or the smoothness of pendlebury, he goes under the radar - the fact that Ablett racks up 3 votes for games that other players wouldnt get a vote in is the problem with the modern day brownlow. (but the issue with the brownlow are for another thread)
He is the engine that makes a midfield tick - his role is exactly what Cotch does for Richmond, but Cotchin, again, dropped off during certain times of the year, which is why he hasnt won a brownlow yet - he had a few games toward the end of the year where he got 15-16 possessions. he needs to be getting 25 possessions minimum for a brownlow to be draped around his neck, because he influences games, not just racks up high numbers.
