Opinion Clarko and the idiot

It was a great night and I know finbarr and co had a good time with some Hawk supporters sitting nearby.

Was just gonna mention them.

3 clad head to toe in Hawks gear, jovial and friendly throughout. No agro whatsoever where we were.

I get the club's first instinct is damage control, but let's not buy into the media steamroller that always seems to extrapolate the behaviour of one or two dickheads into a "typical Port Adelaide" thing.

Reminiscent of the "lets not boo opposition teams" sermon after the woman threw her drink at a player last year.

In and around a stadium of 50000+ you're gonna get one or two NTTAWWTaced shedcants.

Looks like there were so many comments on this
I am sick and tired of rude, drunk dickheads mouthing off AND filming their abysmal behaviour.
Clarko is no Angel but he did nothing that an average guy would've done in the same situation.
So you consider that most of the population of Australia is above average? The guy getting in his face may be provocation but why throw a punch back at him? Leave him alone and a loudmouth walks out looking stupid and with no notoriety. Swing at him and you risk injuring him or having him clock you one.

Unrelated in most ways to this thread but it reminded me that the sardine shuffle over the Torrens river footbridge after the game brings out the worst in some people too... saw a crazy wench go nuts pushing through people last night and going verbal.....something will eventually happen on that bridge that wont be pretty... probably after a bad loss... the lack of girth is an OHS issue waiting to explode.

I have enjoyed Damian Barrett's assertion that this has been a problem in SA for a while now and that being parroted as fact the rest of the day lol. It's really hard to believe there are people who take the footy media seriously

Damian Barrett is a complete and utter moron, he just sensationalizes stuff for his "Big News Breaker" moniker like his Ollie Wines to Carlton story then the next day Ollie resigned with us. One of my favorite twitter moments was a drunk Robbo abusing the hell out of him and Hutchy one night.

It's like the old stories of cars being turned over and set on fire at Football Park if they had Vic number plates.

Any excuse to reignite the stereotypes.

To the supporters who flippantly whitewash the disgraceful behaviour of three inebriated turds pull your bloody heads in. That type of scum like behaviour is completely unacceptable at every level. If your going to act like arrogant ********s and harass other human beings for no genuine reason, then expect to be put in your place. Campaigners of the highest order.

How about we start by not giving this legs. Happened in the city and involved a bunch of guys wearing NO club colours who may or may not have even been at the game.

Because they said "Up the Power?". It was 3 drunken boobs who could've come from absolutely anywhere, quite probably the casino.

With the nature of today's social media culture I wouldn't put it past a supporter of any team to try and get a rise out of Clarko, such is the rank opportunism of the snapchat generation.

Which makes me think that they weren't port supporters but just some random drunk dickheads who only supported the team that won.

I had a drunk idiot following me to the bus stop after the game - shouting 'carn da power' every ******* 5 seconds. I refrained from looking at him, but he was taking the piss looking for a fight. Clarko would have slogged him!

I sympathised totally with Clarkson until I saw the recorded incident.
I still feel some sympathy, but it is not clear cut.
It is hard to tell whether the idiot contacted Clarkson but he did, at the very least, "invade his personal space".
Whether that counts as provocation in law I do not know.
Clarkson did appear to lash out with an open hand, but again I have little idea as to whether that has any relevance at all in terms of attack on a person.
If Clarkson were some other hothead celebrity....hmmm.......say Liam Gallagher of Oasis, and he attacked this jocund (love that word, with emphasis on the last syllable) heckler, would we view it the same way?
