As time passes we will just treat this virus like any other virus out there, the OCD cleaning by shops will die off, the media will stop talking about it, the governments will turn their attention to worrying about getting elected and people will move on.

The economy was already going to get destroyed no matter what the lock downs were with half the population isolating based on the World Reactions. You can't hide that in our society and people make their own decisions. Businesses still go to the wall without any support because no job keeper.

Suicides will probably be up anyway from the economy but they might be offset by other deaths like road, drugs or alcohol.

It's a study on future impact that you haven't even linked. Pretty easy to dismiss and there is nothing we could have done to stop the virus causing harm anyway is my point. Lockdowns aren't causing increased suicides, the virus and it's far reaching impacts will be.

Advocating for an inquiry of the where, when and why for future preparation is not something China should be pissed about. All it does is show how reactionary and defensive China is and it looks like they've got something to hide.

We won't be opening our international borders until such time as the rest of the world get their s**t together, however long that is will dictate when Chinese tourists return. How long is a piece of string?

Local tourism will be the new driver of tourism not international.

International students the same, adapt, more local students and or online courses might be the new.

Sure our food exports will be damaged by a customer throwing its toys out of the cot, so by necessity exporters of those goods will have to adapt and think outside the box and will export elsewhere.

Iron ore is our biggest export to China, they need it as much as we need to export it there. That won't be changing.

Adapting and finding new ways is not optimal but it is necessary.
