What would likely be the maximum amount per player that each player could receive? x34 players, that's a lot of potential damages.
Even if it's half the maximum amount, it will still be a huge figure on top of their existing legal bills etc. More headaches for Essendon.

Let's say each player received $100k, that's $3.4m.

Plus the players can tell EFC to pay up and don't fight it or I will walk to another club whilst fighting it out in court.

Super post

I can't believe after two years people on either side still think this bloke can or will produce anything for them.

He's full of shit and will never say what he knows

Squeeze any rat hard enough and it will sing the libretto from Aida.

"He said he had initially been driven to a clinic in the Gold Coast hinterland in December 2011, where he was administered at least 10 injections in his lower back over two days with what he was told were legal amino acids."

Interesting admission by Lovett-Murray. Does not follow the supposed TB4 injection schedule in any way, shape or form.

Also:

''I was told a lot of the Brisbane players used to go there, when they were winning all their premierships. I spoke to one of the Brisbane players who played there, and he said they would go there,'' he said. ''That gave me confidence. About once a week they would see [the specialist], they thought he was really good.

Interesting that the Brisbane players went there once a week.

Also:

''It was probably about 10 over a couple of days. At the time, I felt like it helped. But Doc Reid didn't agree. He reckons there was no medical explanation for it. He didn't agree with it. But body-wise, I did.''

So Doc Reid thought the injections were useless. Does that not mean that he knew precisely what was being injected?

How does Doc Reid "not agree", and it still happens?

Yet the ex drug stained coach of Cronulla is back coaching Cronulla !

Do you actually know what happened with the cronulla coach. As soon as he was approached by the club Dr and informed that Dank was up to no good he sacked him.

Comparing Flanagan to that low life Hird is piss poor.

Not sure how to answer this bar mentioning I hope you are never on a jury, hope you get screened out.

Not necessarily. Maybe he's taking their blood pressure and reading bloods and inferring that perfectly healthy young men don't need 10 injections in 2 days, for anything. It's almost as if he has 30 years in the industry to fall back on or something.

I don't the think that the players threat to sue the club is an easy road for them to take.

Assuming they get suspended and start looking to replace lost income, to successfully sue the club they would need to show that Essendon's actions were the cause of their loss. The fact that nobody went to ASADA to check what they were being given was within the rules would mitigate against a successful claim. Essendon / coaches / sports scientists would be able to argue that the players didn't fulfill their responsibilities and therefore contributed to the situation.

That said, if Essendon organised the scheme, failed to keep records and added a level of coercion to 'fit in' then the players would have potentially some case to argue. I don't see they would have any case against the AFL for following the rules so thats probably lawyer speak to warn the AFL that the players won't go quietly.

Looking at this from the outside, it seems that this was nobody's fault. Not the player's (who were duped apparently), not the coaches or support staff, not even Dank. Well sort of Dank but nobody can say what he did or didn't do that was legal / illegal / cheating.

Hopefully when this is done we can see what the evidence was and maybe if the players sue, that will be seen in the court proceedings

I dont think the players will be able to sue based on lost income for the reason outlined, however if down the track it comes out that there are health affects then i think they have a case.

PS - Armchair Critic and fabulousphil take your bickering somewhere else please, schoolyard stuff spread throughout numerous threads.

Well in the end it's partially West Coast, Collingwood and hawthorns fault?

We must accept full responsibility for all of this. If you listen to some posters on this forum, apparently the only club totally blameless is Essendon. Why should they suffer from the other 17 clubs' negligence?
