Official Club Stuff Carlton Academy - Next Gen & Father/Son/Daughter Discussion

Honestly, young Bradley is as bottom aged as they come and played his first few minutes game time in his first U18 game. If he is still getting 3 possessions at the end of the 2015 season, then you can worry. Until then, I just hope to see him in action.

Reece McKenzie would have been eligible if they didn't change the F/S rules. Warren McKenzie played one more game than Graeme Whitnall. Tough luck given he was a premiership player. Should really consider how long a player was at a club, rather than the games tally. Trust the AFL to balls it up because the Crows bitched about not having a F/S pick.

Glad I can be of service. :D
It is fantastic to see someone who is prepared to go that extra mile for his fellow Carlton supporters. You would have to be in the running for poster of the month honors soon. Perhaps it will be your turn after the inanimate carbon rod gets his gong.;)

Hi Guys,

I'm one of the commentators at TAC Cup Radio, thought this would be of interest to you regarding TAC Cup players eligible for this years and next years draft that are either father/son eligible or relatives of players past or present.

Carlton

Tom Holman (Brother of Nick) – Murray Bushrangers
Bailey Rice (Son of Dean) – F/S Eligible in 2015 (Also F/S Eligible to St Kilda) – Dandenong Stingrays

Reece McKenzie (Son of Warren – 67 games) – Northern Knights

Simply chooses where he wants to go?

That's right. The Cloke's had a similar decision to make (Richmond and Collingwood).

What happens when a player if FS eligible at two clubs? Simply chooses where he wants to go?

Correct. Just like Joe Daniher was eligible to go to Sydney, the player has a choice if both teams want the player. Or, conversely the player can reject both sides and enter the national draft.

Cheers. Looks like 2 potential father/sons next year. No pressure of course.;)

Hopefully his old man can remind him that he has won as many flags as St Kilda.

Bailey is very talented and highly skilful. He is a bit over 6' in the old measure and solid as well. He has a bit of the Rice mongrel, but just a bit more hidden than his old man. However, it does come out when needed. He has played a few senior games for the team his old man coaches (when not playing juniors) and runs rings around those country players. He has pace off the mark but won't break any sprint records.

He will make AFL if he can improve on two things.

1. Endurance (many talented juniors are lazy because they still dominate with skill alone).

2. Learns to read the play better. Most of his junior footy was played either as ruck (great leap) or CHF. Therefore, the ball always came his way and he didn't need to read the play as much as others.

The Blues could do much much worse than drafting Bailey in the 2015 ND. He will make a great BP/HBB until he becomes an on baller after a couple of preseasons.

Does he put a rinse through his hair like his old man?
