Clubs trading away their future for short term gain - is this the future for long suffering fans? As distinct from the bidding system, future trading could be the recipe for future AFL intervention to stump up a poorly administered club (familiar tune?)
From Emma Quayle:
The new bidding system is ......... looks fairly bulletproof, guards against bluffing and opens the door to something every list manager would love to see introduced: future trading.

The list managers want it, an extra lever, an extra opportunity for short term gain, tomorrows hero versus a well executed plan?
A poorly thought out consequence of the father- son/ academy changes for what?
Its just another hole for clubs to fall into to for mine.
