Giants bait Dogs with #belessbulldog social media campaign

The offer has been made to the Bulldogs to play games at Simmonds stadium for some time. The deal at Etihad is admittedly a lousy one, they need to be rid of it.

And the offer has been vetoed by the AFL, who need to play a set number of games at the stadium each year.

Why is it a stupid tweet?

It'll make money for both clubs as it adds to a rivalry and means more fans turn up to the games.

It's excellent PR that creates some genuine heat.

Stupid because it's lame. Rivalries are formed over years of playing not twitter

Maybe 10+ years ago but we are now in the social media world.

This is how things are done now.

Jeez, nothing wrong with what GWS have done. Give them a break, just having a go. If you think it does nothing to slightly add some spice, then you're ignorant.

Sorry pants, not going to convince me one tweet a rivalry is formed and that's how the world works.

I never said that.

I said it adds to the rivalry.

Westcoast will be where when all this is happening? Surely you don't mean you want to come second.
I think he meant in the year 2030. Eagles have won the last 15 Grand Finals straight. The AFL decide to hand out flags to the poor side that we trample in the annual West Coast Grand Final massacre. Surely it's this flag he means. Surely he isn't a realist, but knows that we probably never lose another game until the end of time.

I'd argue them poaching your captain, completely blindsiding the club and leading to your coach walking out, before you went behind their backs and stole their #1 pick was what started the rivalry.

This stuff just stokes it.

Which is why our society has turned into a shallow, even-more-tabloid Channel 10-esque metrosexual-driven malaise saturated by people who have nothing better to do than pander to their narcissistic urges on dumbass teenage 'social media'

I should tweet this.

The tweet and any other phoney war s**t doesn't mean anything, which is what some posters have said.

But everything else you mentioned is what will make our next game pretty interesting to watch I think. Make no mistake, a number of us have tipped over from dislike to real antipathy. Not due to a tweet, but everything else.

And the AFL disallowed us to play there, as they need us to fill their Etihad quota.

It's funny how people bag us for the handouts but don't realise that it's compensation because they don't allow us a chance to make our own money.
Top post. What was Wayne Jackson thinking??

Need some good tweeting to liven up the Carlton Richmond rivalry of the seventies.

HAVE YOU SEEN

And yet you came back for more...

I'm regularly confused by people who attack GC and GWS for being "plastic" and "manufactured" and the like. The **** do you think your clubs started out?
Generally, they started out as a group of guys from a local area gathering to stay fit and maybe challenge some lads from a neighbouring local area, have a bit of a laugh and socialise, and then reconvene to the local for a few beers. Over time they changed; some grew, some collapsed, some merged, times changed and the clubs changed with them etc.
Do you really struggle to see the difference?

People of all ages use social media. The older generation being the fastest growing sector of users. And why does pointing out your views or getting your message out there have to be labelled 'narcissistic' - a word that's way overused today.
