Gillon is repairing some of the damage done by Demetriou

Indeed I do, the bloke is a dud, lots of spin, no substance whether its chips, a stadium deal, extra finals ticketing costs. The sooner he is shown the door, the better our game will be.

He got the top job in June. he's making the right moves in terms of footy at the moment. Just what do you think he's done wrong since taking over?

Orchestrating a campaign to damage one particular club - making the AFL look like it's run by cowboys, under the influence of big media mouths. That's damaging.

Claiming he can fix things beyond his control, like the price of chips ... thats his claim to fame, populist yet undeliverable.

Its possibly more damaging to the codes image to have clubs with a decided financial advantage over the rest of the competition. And then waging a media war against their owners when they are told if they dont drop it straight away they'll lose the right to trade.

But it's not a decided advantage. It's a fully justified equalisation measure approved by the AFL and all clubs.

The media war was started by Fat Eddie and swallowed by the AFL. Obvious to anyone with an IQ over 3.

And consequently unapproved by the AFL. The AFL Giveth, and the AFL taketh away. And the clubs didnt approve it, they werent required to under the leagues constitution they had no say in it.

A soft, public servant's reply. Pathetic.

The AFL prospers because of the people who support it.
This is what gets ratings which gets TV deals which gets money.
The AFL commission are just suits who are put there to represent the people who get them the money.

No doubt you would vote "Liberal" because they're "better economic managers" and you swallow 3 word slogans from mealy-mouthed lawyers-cum-politicians.

Any more soft than another Swans fan trying to justify COLA?

A mistake was made that is now being fixed. Just admit it, like the AFL are finally doing. Always the first step.

And no doubt you can knock off the personal attacks.

How did you figure it out then?

Leg End mate let it go. Why are you putting your energy into trying to explain something to them when they clearly do not care.

But the way the AFL is acting borders on the ridiculous. For what its worth I support extra concessions for the clubs in development states, its good for the growth of our game.

He was very good at paying himself an extremely high wage.
Appart from that, he was a master of mediocrity.
Should really have been sanctioned for bringing the game into disrepute.

His wage would have been decided by the board.

I guess you view the whole world thru this ideological porthole?

The appointment of Liz Lukin underlines the importance of spin in Gils regime, anything coming out of AFL House will have more spin than a Murali doosra. Sleeping with dogs begets fleas.

Suggestions the formerly close relationship between Gil & Andy is fractured, anyone got the story on why?

Yeah, apparently it is over North Melbourne. Andy wanted North to relocate to the Gold Coast, once that fell through Gil counted - he sent North Melbourne down to Tasmania, Andrew wasn't happy with this. Gil clearly overstepped the mark. Mediation was organised and it was decided that North would make Ballarat their home. Fed up with this, Andrew retired, called Gil a rouge - so out of spite Gil sent North back down to Tasmania.

Evans deserves a lot of credit.

Since he sort of took over from the peanut Anderson, a lot more common sense is creeping back in.

Adrian Anderson and his ambulance chasing way of thinking set this comp back 5-10 years.

Who gives a **** about the price of hot chips, if food at the football is too expensive don't buy ******* s**t expensive food!

The real issue s that the food isn't worth the price, if it was better cooked then maybe the case could be made for the prices and there is nothing stopping one from taking food into the ground.
