It's a real issue. We just don't defend between the arcs. This is identical to our AFL games, opposition are just getting easy rebound goals.
We’ve dominated hit-outs and certainly Sweet’s have looked like they should advantage us. The lack of talent and grunt in our midfield is killing this team. Narkle is a seagull. Sinn wasted at HB. The two little guys up forward unsighted. This is blowing out.
Midfield a real issue and backline just nowhere near the level.
We should still be prioritising drafting for young mids. Other teams bat 6-7 deep. With Wines approaching 30, our top end is elite but soon there will be very little behind it. Playing Sinn at HB is understandable to an extent to get him match fitness, but in the longterm we should prioritise him and Bergman becoming centre square mids. The worrying thing is we’re not likely to bring in any onballers this draft either.
Committed to two wingers / flankers in burgs and Montgomery. NGA if we land him is a forward / flanker
Unfortunately everyone in our forward line is such an irreplaceable superstar that there's just no room for him.Take out so far is its not healthy for Mitch Georgiades to be playing at sanfl level at this point.
Really need to find a spot for him in the AFL.
We could easily have McKenzie and Clurey down back but we gave 1 the week off and put the other on the wing.
I wonder if any of Williams, Sweet or Georgiades just get taken off at half time and we play with a man short, making us even less competitive.
We have a tall forward line of semi-achievers. Not one of the three incumbents is a reliable match winner. They all do just enough on an inconsistent basis to tease us and to keep their spots, but none are, have been or possibly ever will be “champs”. I don’t know if Georgiades will be either tbh, but if fit, he shouldn’t be kept out of the AFL team just because Finlayson can stand and watch in the centresquare as a pretend “second” ruckman.Unfortunately everyone in our forward line is such an irreplaceable superstar that there's just no room for him.
