Alaska trip sounds awesome!Where in Alaska are you headed?
Back in 2017 I arrived in Anchorage on Xmas day (having left Melbourne, Aus) Xmas morning - so 4 flights & about 38 hours from leaving the hotel at Tulla to sitting on the bed at the other end. I then spent new year's at Utqiagvik which is the northern most point of mainland USA before heading to Fairbanks for a couple of days
Fairbanks had the best view of the northern lights, and definitely saw better colours through my camera lens than the naked eye
On previous trips I'd been to Austin (really enjoyed), Vegas which is a crazy place but fun, and I'm one of those people who does enjoy LA having been a couple of times & would go back to visit other areas I didn't really have means of visiting
Enjoy the while trip, and hope you get some great, clear weather in Alaska to view the northern lights
LA you can have to yourself. Never been more disappointed than LA, was super excited and super let down
Everyone has different things.
From my recent trip, the biggest pleasant surprise for me was Miami, wasnt on my radar, but Mrs Goose was keen, I loved it.
The Cuban and latin cultures give it a wonderful vibe. There is a cool urban art scene, not typically my thing, but really enjoyed it. A very cool vibe, would encourage others to give it a go.
