Iran's right to defend itself does not include constant threat & rhetoric to destroy Jews / the state of Israel and / or constantly arming of multiple proxies that attack Israel with regularity. This has been going on eternally.

It's their political system. You get a percentage of seats based on the percentage of votes you get - only Primary votes. As little as 3.5% of votes gets a seat. Sounds good in theory as minority groups should be represented (although Bibi has put in laws to refuse Knesset seats), but in reality it means loonies are represented and can have the balance of power. And it pretty much ensures that the government is a coalition. Eg. the Aussie current government only got 32% of the primary vote and would have had to form a coalition under their electoral system.

Part of why the Loonies give the right the balance of power is that they refuse to consider including Islamic politicians in their coalitions.

18% of Israelis are Muslim. And Israel supporters go to great lengths to tell you that they have all the same rights as Jews in Israel. But they've had one Cabinet Minister serve for 2 years in the whole history of the Knesset. But outright Jewish Supremacists who have previously been convicted of terrorism hold positions in charge of the West Bank security forces and Finance ministers.

Next time you hear Bibi say the terrorists are the problem. Question why he forms coalitions with ex- and current terrorists like Smotrich and Ben Gvir.

If Israel weren't supported by the US, a lot more nations would be a lot more heavy handed in their responses to this. Both verbally and sanctions.

The only reason so many western countries are being so careful in what their saying IMO is that they have to keep the US on side, and the US is still staunchly pro-Israel.

The best thing that can happen for the Israeli people are for the ICC arrest warrants to actually go out for Netanyahu and Gollant as it gives them (the people, and the Government excluding those two) a chance to change direction.
