To the James Bond fans; Who is your fav Bond. Sean Connar
all those extra channels of 7, 9, 10 rinse and repeat the same movies over and over.
I think the only reason 7 9 and 10 brought out those new extra channels was for the extra advertising income, certainly wasn't for extra entertainment as ch 7 has 2 other channels that are showing the exact same programs. Some of the other channels show a lot of programs that were on in the 50s,60s and so forth. I think maybe ch50 might be ok for sports and ch63 has some varied programs, but they are still repeated over n over. TV was from memory very good in the 70s and 80s, shows like IMT, Don Lane Show and other variety shows all live, lots of laughs, home grown drama, mini series and soaps, even locally made comedy shows with aussie humour(norman gunston, Paul Hogan, naked vicar). Movies on several times a week. Now most of the programs are reality shows that don't cost a lot to make, endless cooking shows, talent shows, home reno and garden shows that are all basically the same. And someone told me about a show that involves you watching other people watching TV, OMG can tv sink any lower. I moved out of the city into the small rural town, free to air TV coverage is so poor that its pixelated most of the time, so I had pay tv installed and I now enjoy tv again.

To James Bond fans, who is your fav Bond. Mine was Sean Connery. But since seeing Casino royale I now like Daniel Craig, Like Connery he plays Bond a lot tougher, and a male chauvinist (sorry ladies), and not a poncy toff like some.

Reminds me....have to source a copy of The Man with Xray eyes with him. Haven't seen it for about 40+ years.
That brings back memories, and remember the shrinking man, not RM but another classic sci fi. I think a lot of old films were lost forever when one of the big movie making companies caught fire. Some were good movies, some not so but still fun when I was a little kid. Do you remember Epic Theatre on Sunday afternoons with all the old sci fi and gladiator and superhero films, I remember old Batman in an ill fitting bat suit driving a big black old car as the batmobile :D so funny. What about Deadly Earnest awful horror movies on Friday nights., so bad, so funny. When I think about it now, as a 10 yr old at the time, sometimes I was sh***ing myself some times.:D

Obviously from the same era. Sundays was Wrestling and Epic Theatre. And would tip toe through the house on a Friday Night to switch on Deadly Earnest and'or The Outer Limits. Those early Batmans...30s? 40s? Reckon I saw them. Used to be a show on Saturday morning called Fantastic Flicks with Kevin Dennis commercials - I remember the Holden Brougham adds - which had some absolutely crazy sci-fi movies. Probably as you stated...lost in a fire or thrown away.:)

Feel the same about Craig. A stripped down version with flaws and a mean streak.Loving every one he's made so far.

i think that is the case now but in their infancy they were showing quality like curb your enthusiasm and weeds as examples, onehd was a dedicated sports channel.

Any of you campaigners watching Narcos? It's well good.

Wagner is great, he's been in a bunch of Brazilian stuff.

Started watching Narcos last night. Have only seen the first 3 episodes, but loving it.
The guy who plays Pablo Escobar does an awesome job from what I've seen so far.

so, the series has a limited span then?

Last night I watched a movie about Escobar on Foxtel movie premiere. It was called Escobar: Paradise lost, a 2014 film staring Benicio del toro. It was about a young Canadian guy living in Colombia

Last night I watched a movie on Foxtel movie premier channel called Escobar: Paradise lost starring Benicio Del Toro as Escobar Pablo, a 2014 movie. It's about a young Canadian guy who is living in Colombia in the hope of opening a surfing gear shop on a beach, meets a girl falls in love and finds out she is the Drug Lords niece, marries her and ends up caught up in the family business. A with a very good movie with building suspense and a thrilling and unexpected ending. Not sure if it's a true story, didn't say so.

Haven't seen it, watch ch is it on. I have very limited free to air channels, have Foxtel though, haven't noticed it there. checked the net and series 1 is 10 episodes long with plans for a 2nd. I enjoy shows like these.
Netflix

Talking about English crime movies, I really enjoyed The Sweeney(2012). I liked Ray Winstone's Reagen. A lot of tough gritty action. Can be a bit hit n miss remaking a series into a movie. But I give this one a pass. Anyone else seen this one?
Sexy Beast is good too!

There was talk it could continue past Pablo and go North to the USA or just keep going in Colombia. It's called Narcos not Pablo.

that is what happens when you do not google things and just take snippets of other posts (happens a lot on the cats board).

do not have netflix so cannot imagine i will happen upon it anytime soon.
