This may get serious or it may just be a slap on the wrist type stuff who knows, but with Gallop at the helm any punished handed down will probably be sever if the club is found to have breached serious amounts.

FFA statement.

Football Federation Australia (FFA) today issued Perth Glory Football Club with a show cause notice relating to alleged “failure to disclose reportable payments” in relation to the club’s Total Player Payments.
The show cause notice does not allege that these payments resulted in the club exceeding the salary cap in the relevant years.

The alleged breaches involve failure to disclose benefits to players relating to accommodation costs, car allowances and the payment of third party agents fees for the 2012/13, 2013/14, 2014/15 Hyundai A-League seasons.

FFA will send staff back to Perth next week to continue the detailed audit of the club’s affairs.

There is a precedent with Sydney FC being deducted 3 points back in season two for breaching the salary cap in season one.

Thought's people. Glory fans..

This is starting to sound very serious now much worse then I thought.

Perth Glory to be issued with second show-cause notice for A-League salary cap breach

Perth Glory's hopes of a first A-League title may be dashed, after Football Federation Australia was set to hand the club a second show-cause notice for a serious breach of the salary cap.

It is understood the FFA will allege the Glory deliberately exceeded the A-League salary cap limit by approximately $150,000 by paying a player through a third party for the entire season. The fresh accusations could derail the club's hopes of playing in the finals series, with Perth facing the prospect heavy fines and a possible points deduction should they be found guilty of systematically cheating the cap.

Sources close to the investigation suggest at least $150,000 of star striker Andy Keogh's salary was paid into a bank account held by a family member, listing the transactions as payments relating to a Perth fashion festival. Although Keogh is involved with one fashion label, it is understood these payments were related only to his contract as a footballer.

The total value of Keogh's salary is believed to be between $300,000 and $350,000 a season, yet it is understood the club recorded his salary as $150,000 in its reportings to the FFA.
Perth Glory were already spending close to the salary cap limit of $2.55 million a season, deeming the alleged additional payments as a significant breach of the limit.

Keogh signed a two-year deal with the club on May 30, with an option for the Glory to extend the contract for a third season. The Republic of Ireland international has been central to Perth's success this campaign. He was their top scorer as they led the league for the first half of the season, reached the FFA Cup final and now sit in fourth position.

Keogh's signing precedes Perth Glory moving Nebojsa Marinkovic and Michael Thwaite into marquee positions outside of the salary cap to avoid breaching the limit.

The revelations of payments made outside of the cap were found during an FFA investigation into allegations of Perth's salary cap breaches, prompted by a Fairfax Media report in December last year. The governing body undertook a forensic audit of Glory's accounts and player payment methods, uncovering what is the most serious alleged salary cap breach in the history of the A-League.

The club will now have to explain their actions to the governing body, who were expected to issue the notice on Wednesday night.

Perth's management will be given up to one week to respond to the notice explaining their actions before they face the possibility of hefty sanctions, which could significantly effect their final finish on the A-League table just weeks before the finals series begins.

Sources close to the club suggest senior officials, players and directors were interviewed by the FFA investigation team, led by A-League chief Damien De Bohun, since the start of the year. The latest show-cause notice follows an earlier notice issued in February relating to the club's failure to report players' accommodation, player-agent fees and club vehicles issued to players in the salary cap for the past three seasons.

While such benefits are permitted within the strict reporting guidelines of the salary cap, the club is required to report all such benefits to the FFA throughout the season.

Perth Glory are alleged to have provided accommodation for several players during the past three seasons. A Fairfax Media investigation revealed the club failed to declare up to $50,602 in player agent fees in the 2012-13 season, which is required by the salary cap.

The second Show Cause notice has officially been issued:

The second notice is in relation to the current season. The alleged breaches involve failure to disclose reportable payments and exceeding the salary cap. The “failure to disclose” breaches involve:

The second notice is in relation to the current season. The alleged breaches involve failure to disclose reportable payments and exceeding the salary cap. The “failure to disclose” breaches involve:

• Payments outside of the Standard Player Contract

• Payments to a player’s family member

• Payments of player agents’ fees

• Payment of a third party sponsorship

• Pre-payment to a player

• Payment of travel costs

• Accommodation allowances

• Provision of motor vehicles

The value of the undisclosed payments and benefits involved in the alleged breaches would place Perth Glory significantly in excess of the allowable salary cap of $2.55m.

We may weasel our way out of it yet.

Perth Glory are expected to accept some allegations of breaching the A-League salary cap issued by Football Federation Australia in their official response to a show-cause notice provided on Wednesday night.
The club did not meet the FFA's deadline to respond to allegations of serious breaches of the salary cap by the close of business on Wednesday and was granted a last-minute request for a two-hour delay. However, Fairfax Media understands the club intends to contest some of the serious allegations issued by the FFA, while it will accept others in the hope of avoiding a heavy sanction and the possible deduction of competition points.

150k paid to Keogh's missus isn't too serious IMO. Fine Glory the same amount and be done with it. Nice to see Sage throwing all his staff under the bus claiming he had no knowledge or involvement in it. I find it hard to believe that a tight arse like Sage didn't know where 150k of his money was being spent.

I think it's bigger then just one player and more then 150k.
Up to 20 players and 400k over if rumours are correct. They are already starting to release players to get under the cap with Mitch Nichols and young gun Matthew Davis being released.

It also looks like Sage is starting to get desprate by trying to sweep it under the rug by trying to comparing it to Sydney's breach ten years ago.
They know they are guilty these are serious breaches if true. FFA and Gallop are gonna come down hard just like he did with the storm. Points deductions, massive fines for sure.

Examples have to be made otherwise clubs like City will breach the cap every year if they know all they'll cop is a fine and a slap on the wrist.

If found guilty of breaches, they must be punished with points deduction, need to be made an example probably just enough so they miss out on finals. Don't think they'll get all points taken away.

The fact the FFA have come to a conclusion so soon to me says the Glory's answers to the show clause where either insufficient, or they answered and provided all evidence to prove innocence. Which to me judging from the news sources I've read is very unlikely.

We'll see come 3pm.

Gone!

Football Federation Australia (FFA) has determined that Perth Glory Football Club will be excluded from the 2015 Hyundai A-League Finals Series after being found to be in breach of the Hyundai A-League’s Player Contract Regulations (‘salary cap’).
At the end of Round 27 the Club’s position on the ladder will be adjusted and recorded as seventh.

The sanction follows the determination that Perth Glory has deliberately failed to disclose reportable benefits and payments to at least six players, and from the beginning of the 2014/15 season has been operating in excess of the allowable salary cap of $2.55m by in the order of $400,000.

FFA has also determined that the Club was in breach of the rules for failing to disclose payments in the 2012/13 and 2013/14 seasons.

Perth Glory will be fined $269,000 in total for the breaches over the three seasons as follows:

* $26,000 for the 2012/13 season, being the value of the undisclosed payments and benefits

* $43,000 for the 2013/14 season, being the value of the undisclosed payments and benefits

* $200,000 for the 2014/15 season, taking into account the significance of the total sanction for this season, namely the exclusion from the Finals series (and consequently any prospect of qualifying for the 2016 Asian Champions League)

The breaches include deliberately not disclosing:

* Payments outside of the Standard Player Contract

* Payments to a player’s family member

* Payments of player agents’ fees

* A Third Party sponsorship

* A Pre-payment to a player

* Payment of travel costs

* Accommodation benefits

* Provision of motor vehicles

Perth Glory has seven business (7) days in which to lodge an appeal under the FFA’s regulations to the independent FFA Disciplinary Committee.
