First home game of the season so it's good to be back.

No AFL emergencies will be held back due to this game being a day after the AFL game.

Also Lobbe, Monfries and Hewett have fitness tests so there is a chance all of them could be in the team. If all are fit, we could end up with 2 extra AFL players so 2 would have to miss out.

The Academy side (who sit top of the ladder) should be well stocked with the likes of Sharrad, Robbie Young, Rudloff (and possibly Reynolds) coming back down.

Potential team looks great on paper. Glenelg game has hopefully taught them (and us) not to take anything for granted. Very cruel if Sharrad plays in academy side after BOG last week. Sanfl restrictions very annoying. Acamemy game could be interesting. North reserves very good. Smashed us by a lot in trial game.

Unfortunately it's the rules. Sharrad IMO was BOG so I reckon he'll stay in.

Yep I'm with you Ross. Young and Reynolds have to drop out. Sharrad holds more value than Reynolds right now, and Young as good as he is, is playing the role that Johnson is going to take, so I think Summo and Sharrad have to be the only Magpies listed players that make the cut.


If you were picking on current ability, there's no doubt Ladhams would be in the Reserves and Reynolds would be in. Irra would make way for Rudloff, and Young is probably marginally ahead of Johnson but that could change quickly if Johnson develops well.

If Monfries, Hombsch, Lobbe & Hewett were to all play in 2 weeks time, and we have no other injuries in the mean time, it will be interesting to see who the left out Power players are. If Summerton is a guarantee, then we only have 1 Magpie to go out before players start missing out. So we're talking possibly Ladhams, Hewett and someone else maybe completely missing out on a game. That'd be bloody tough on our guys.

I've always said the rookie listed lads should be allowed to play academy.
