As a young kid in the early and mid 2000s I remember the VFL being a real proud competition. Sadly over the last 10 years it has basically become AFL reserves and is not really the competition it once was. I feel for clubs like Willy and Port, Coburg and Frankston too, they're almost afterthoughts today but have been such a huge part of footy.

Loved going to the foity Saturday watching under 19s, resies and seniors. Then Sunday down to the VFA. Most VFA grounds you could jump the fence especially Prahran.

That's what will happen a couple of years down the track . Port have been told if they are not in the VFL the council will pull all the fences down and make it open space . Port Phillip council another one that are #####

Thanks Over The Post . Albeit with an * next to it. Would've loved to battle it out until the bitter end but like anyone should, I'll take the win and celebrate accordingly. Now I just need my mighty OXAFL to top off the season with a fully legitimate and hard earned premiership.
