Richmond President John O’Rourke has provided his President's Report for the year ended 31 October 2023.

Seems a bit of underwhelming the end of year results for 2023. Profit was $2,318,109 but most of that was from donations to the Punt Road Development

Don’t think we’re dumb enough to sprout BIG profits in an era of diminishing dividends from city hall . Balancing the books whilst retained earnings have grown to 45mn is neat work , not sure if gov grants are incl in that,,,,, have we got any forensic chartered Accts on this board ?

I love how we’ve turned it around, but the way the AFL distributes $$ , you wonder ho muchbig profits really matter.

Theres salary caps for players and the soft cap, limiting a clubs ability to capitalise on big sponsorship and membership funds.

And State Governments have been dishin out millions to clubs to upgrade facilities, making it an even playing field

Weve seen financially strapped clubs like Melbourne and the Doggies winning silverware, while the richest clubs in the competition Adelaide and WCST have done sfa on field in the last couple of decades.
