Some other records to ponder ....

ALL TIME - Campbell's Creek - 100-34-634 d Primrose 3-0-18 (Maryborough League - 1990)

Most goals in a match - Doug Enser 60-8 (Noble Park 1967)

AFLQ - Morningside 47-28-310 d Caloundra 1-3-9 (1990 - Darren Vickery kicked 23-7 .... also a record)

AFL/VFL - Geelong 37-17-239 (v Brisbane 1992)

SANFL - Glenelg 49-23-317 d Centrals 11-13-79 (1975)

SFL - Wests 57-28-370 d Balmain 3-7-25 (1973)

Interstate match - WA 43-19-277 (v Qld 1924)

Best/Worst club performance in one day (1986) -
1st Grade - Williamstown 55-17-347 d Camberwell 4-8-32
2nd Grade - Williamstown 60-22-382 d Camberwell 3-7-25
3rd Grade - Williamstown 57-34-376 d Camberwell 1-1-7

Can any of you Croweaters, Mexicans or Sandgropers confirm anything has beaten these ??? Any further details on these ??? Or any other records from any League around the country ???

I'm even interested in record scoring feats as well.

Didn't the full forward in that Campbell's Creek result nab about 80 goals? I remember Jack Dyer having a go at him on World of Sport, the guy kicked 80.17 or something and Jack says "Enough abou the 80, what about the 17?".

What about the flag-winners?

Another record worth sourcing is regards the club which has won the most flags.

I ran a discussion on this back at footypedia ( http://pub51.ezboard.com/ffootypediafrm1.showMessage?topicID=13.topic ) and came up with a top 5 as follows :
36 - South Gawler (SA).
34 - Mines Rovers (WA).
33 - Port Adelaide (SA).
30 - Geelong West (Vic), Omeo (Vic).

But it may be missing a few!

Port Adelaide have won 36 Premierships. They're listed on the opening page of the Magpies website.

The Glenelg record still stands in the SANFL. Their full forward that day (Fred Phillis) kicked 18.6 - all 6 points came in the first quarter. He was wearing new boots in that quarter, switched to the old boots at 1/4 time, and kicked 18 goals without a miss. After the game he burnt the new boots. The Bays last shot for goal hit the post, robbing them of an even 50 goals.

And now I realise I know some detailed history of the GFC that doesn't involve defeats at the hands of Port Adelaide in Grand Finals, I don't feel so well ... ;)

Interesting. I note that Port Adelaide have included 1998 and 1999 among their premierships, which I thought were actually Port Adelaide premierships!

Exactly correct

The PA Magpies Football Club have won THREE of those flags

So does that make the PAFC only have 34 - yes it does if you believe PA 1870 and the official club line.

If so South Gawler are the best club in Australian Football history

perhaps they should be let into the AFL.

Even Port people can't decide which club is which - their website is wrong, Rucci changes his mind by the day and the Magpies hold club functions to honour their past greats when they have only been in existence for five years

Weird.

I think their is a slight difference. For a start they are Port Adelaide functions....not PAFC or PAMFC specific ;)
I also noted that when the Advertiser was running the preseason profiles of the club it stated that Port Adelaide had won 36 and they wrote it like:
Premierships: 36 (34 as PAFC, 2 as PAMFC)

who knows. I think most Port people would like some clarification on this point.

Well if that is the case

THe PAFC otherwise known in the AFL as the POWER are therefore a NEW club.

That would be how most would logically (not legally) see it.

THERE ARE NO OFFICIAL PORT POWER RECORDS BECAUSE THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A PORT POWER CLUB YOU IDIOT!!!

They are PORT ADELAIDE FOOTBALL CLUB. Forget about the fuking nicknames.
PAFC is in the AFL...has 34 SANFL premierships, no AFL premierships
PAMFC is in SANFL and has 2 SANFL premierships

All these people that get confused because you all keep insisting that Port is called 'Port Power'.

Macca it was a fair question pedantics aside

It your two clubs can't decide themselves who has what premierships then how are us Crows supporters supposed to work it out

Its simple for us - 2 - 0

;)

Calm down a bit will ya?They were called Port Power were they not? Is it my fault they decided to change their name idiot? Glad to see you have conquered the caps button, quite an achievement for a Port supporter.

At no stage ever have they been called Port Power. They had Port Power on the logo...but people (like yourself) thought that was the name of the club so they changed it. Adelaide has 'Adelaide Crows' on their logo but that doesnt mean their club is called the Adelaide Crows Football Club.

Its good to see you added the good old Port Supporter with an IQ less than 20 joke as well!!!

Was that the Geelong West in the VFA or a team in a local Geelong league?
Geelong West in the VFA had a dreadful Under 19s team in the 1980s that set some records for having huge scores kicked against them week after week. I'll see if I can find that book of footy lists which included a piece about how mind-bogglingly terrible their percentages were for a couple of seasons.
