Sub Thomas

- tazz a best case but wouldn’t be surprised if he’s not ready

- tempted for George or Dursma but can’t see them being ready

- I refuse to accept Chom down back. Don’t care what anyone says including clarko.

- ford not ready with his ankle

- Bergman certainly a possibility pending pre season showing.

If Mckercher is fit and Dursma plays ahead of him round 1, I’ll become a disciple.

Biggie is a spud. Not going to wear the jumper. If he does wear it, it’ll be for a couple of weeks.

I actually agree. I think they're probably just training him there so he develops another string to his bow in case things don't work out, they'll start him forward and move him back if none of Pink, Nyuon or Dawson x 2 can hold a spot down

I sponsor Charlie and spoke to him about the move. He actually told me about the move and is looking forward to it.

As far as ai can tell it’s 100% a legit move and is also part of mitigating injury risk.

I can understand your point though snd I think we’ll see him forward again once he has moved past his injury concerns and got a bunch of games on the board.

FWIW - he seemed pretty excited about it and his aggression/ agility will have him in good stead imho.

Go Chom!!

Good thread!!

My early thoughts are:

FB: McDonald - Dawson - Comben
HB: Goater - Corr - Fisher
C: Scott - Wardlaw- D.Stephens
HF: Sheezel - CCJ - Ford
FF: Thomas -Larkey - Zurhaar
R: Xerri - LDU - Simpkin
I:Curtis - Philips - Pink - Shiels
Sub: Powell

A few injury concerns and delays to full time training so I expect the competition for spots and some not being read will result in an interesting round 1 team.

CCJ, TT among others still struggling to get back into it

McKercher and Dursma will push hard and be a good shake. Bergman, Archer, Lazzaro , Turner, Greenwood all a chance if fit snd firing at the right time.

I expect B.George, Durssma to be eased in via VFL to give their bodies right.

Go Roos!

Not first hand knowledge here, but I’d expect that once Logue returns we’d prefer to have him fwd again.

Respectfully, why the F would you have Thomas as sub?

Because he hasn’t commenced pre season, has what appears to be an ongoing groin injury and supposedly is 7-8 weeks off playing
If he's not ready to play he won't be playing - sub or no.

Yes piss it off and have 5 on the bench, no sub
It’s the most ridiculous rule change in every iteration.

‘We think it’s totally unfair if we have an injury and are one down on the bench. We should have a sub…’

‘We think it’s ridiculous that the sub can’t be used until there is an injury, make them part of the bench…’

Rinse. And. Repeat. Can’t be too long now until we reach the ‘raise the bench to five and remove the sub’ rule change.

Pick a number, I’d have no issue with six. Set a limit, say 60. And leave it the * alone.

LOL you're a very naughty poster TYF!!

Yeah I’m not sure either but nobody could argue a fit Charlie up forward wouldn’t change our entire forward line!!

Speed, size, aggression, agility - can mark, can rag doll an oppo player with a smile on!

Time will tell but it’s probably very handy if he can play both ends too!
