So good to get that monkey off our back, they were quite plucky in the first quarter and early in second but it was a terrible mismatch really, and the boys were professional and got the job done.

This kid Harvey Thomas is a revelation, he is the kind of player that we at one point would have let slip away.

For a young inexperienced and undersized kid he plays with so much energy and intent…he’s a beauty! Cadman is showing real signs too, future looks great 🙂👍

Pretty good win, went about as expected thought we were probably more impressive against North but regardless tougher place to play and was certainly good enough.

  • Harvey Thomas! Was so good, 21 and a goal and could've had a few more, couple of assists as well just so consistently with the ball in dangerous spots and makes great decisions with his really good skills. Darcy Jones and McMullin going to have to wait a bit longer.
  • Felt like Cadman's worst game of the 3 so far and still kicked 3 goals, thought he imapcted more contests in previous games but still did his job. The pick up below his knees to start was really clean and then finishing with a strong contested mark, the flashes just keep adding up with him. Already past last years goal tally.
  • Tom Green absolute monster
  • Taylor the best defender in the comp and the best 1v1 player as well, can just completly take guys out of the game man on man or as an interceptor, special talent
  • Could be harsh but a bit disappointed in Finn's start to the year, doesn't seem like he's taken a step as an inside mid stoppage/clearance player which is what we were hoping to see this year. Still plenty of time to work into things but expected more from him, still waiting on him to have a game where he's clearly one of the best on ground and looks really great. Not expecting that every week nearly 30 games in would've thought we'd have 1 by now.
  • Briggs had an easy match up and took full advantage of it, was completely dominant in the ruck racking up the clearances and was good with his tap work. That's what the best players at their position do, get an easy match up and dominate.
  • Like seeing Kelly more outside like we did, feel like it makes him more dangerous in space. He's so good inside and we don't have a lot of options in there that he has to play in there but liked his game.
  • Another Ash not so great game, he wasn't too bad last week but had no impact this week was a good decision to sub him off
  • Daniels is elite, cruised to 17 and 2 with 8 tackles, his ball use is fantastic when he gets the chance move up the ground a bit higher
All fun and good to pump bad teams but excited to see how it looks when we come up against someone that's more serious. GC, Carlton, Saints all coming up should be better tests.

Very underdone IMO, with his multiply interrupted preseason. He'll build into it, come back in about four to six weeks.

We get a pass mark for the first three games, nothing more.

Maybe and if thats actually what's happening then thats fine but his preseason was uninterrupted right up until before the season started and he had a shoulder issue as well as a foot infection weird thing. That shouldn't really have too much of an impact on how he's able to prepare for the season, is one-foot injury enough to derail months of work? The shoulder wouldn't have stopped him from participating in all of the fitness drills I'm assuming and it's not like it was a major one, he was back playing a couple weeks later (does have an history with shoulder stuff but if it was serious enough he wouldn't be playing).

It’s funny you know. The excuse for West Coast is, oh, they’re young, they’re rebuilding but just look at the profile of the 2 teams on the weekend.

Average age:
West Coast: 24 yrs 356 days
GWS: 25 yrs 24 days
(On average we’re less than a month older)

Total Games (average)
West Coast: 1968 (85.6)
GWS: 1992 (86.6)
(On average 1 more game per player)

Less than 50 games
West Coast: 10
GWS: 9

50-100 games
West Coast: 5
GWS: 7

100-150
West Coast: 3
GWS: 2

150+
West Coast: 5
GWS: 5

The profiles aren’t all that different really.

Simpson should be under a lot more pressure than he actually is - either that or we aren’t being given enough credit for where we are with our profile.
