1. Matthew Renshaw (310 runs, average 51.66, 1x 100, 1x 50). Hard to ignore his form at the start of the year, Renshaw has been excellent for Queensland so far.
2. Cameron Bancroft (483 runs, ave 53.66, 3x 100, 0x 50). Bancroft has been the best opener this year so far, his quality has been on show throughout.
3. Peter Handscomb (571 runs, ave 81.57, 2x 100, 1x 50, c). Handscomb has been in incredible touch this year, leading run scorer, best average and captain so far to boot.
4. Hilton Cartwright (365 runs, ave 45.62, 0x 100, 4x 50). No centuries means that it's only been a "good" season so far instead of great, but will have a chance to rectify that post Christmas
5. Nathan McSweeney (306 runs, ave 43.71, 1x 100, 2x 50). Been a breakout year for McSweeney and looks to have been a really good import for SA. Can bowl handy off spin too.
6. Sam Harper (302 runs, ave 43.14, 1x 100, 1x 50, +). Harper has been the standout keeper/bat this year. He looks to have finally made the step with his batting and he kept tidily as well.
7. Michael Neser (256 runs, ave 42.66, 1x 100, 1x 50; 24 wickets, ave 14.5, SR 38.2, ER 2.27). Has stepped his batting up in a big way this season whilst maintaining a great record with the ball.
8. Will Sutherland (280 runs, ave 35, 1x 100, 0x 50; 23 wickets, ave 20.34, SR 47.3, ER 2.57). Mostly picked for his bowling but Sutherland has taken a step up with the bat as well, deserves a selection here.
9. Mark Steketee (25 wickets, ave 15.52, SR 36.2, ER 2.56). Steketee has ably lead the Queensland attack alongside Neser and is a sneaky chance at a test this year.
10. Todd Murphy (14 wickets, ave 17.71, SR 40.7, ER 2.61). I ummed and ahhed about Murphy or Rocchiccioli here but Murphy has a superior average, strike and economy rate to Rocc, with only 2 fewer wickets.
11. Lance Morris (27 wickets, ave 18.4, SR 33.1, ER 3.33). Morris has struck fear into many batsmen this season so far, his raw pace being an absolute weapon for WA.

Without the blurb:

Kelly and Paris (if he'd played more games) would be putting pressure on the bowlers as well, both have performed very well this year. Hard to argue there's been a better opener than Bancroft, and I'm a fan, but he's such a feast or famine player. An average of 53 from 10 innings, but his 483 run includes three centuries, including a big 164 not out. So almost 400 of his 483 runs have come from three innings.
