How do you propose they expand to the rest of Britain? They already have Wales, and Scotland have a league. I doubt Northern Ireland would join, as it would be easier to join the Irish League (if there is one).
Considering the PL was a breakaway for premier clubs in England seeking TV money, it doesn't seem too far fetched that they may try to transition to a British-based league rather than strictly English. Clubs like Celtic and shudder Rangers would likely jump ship if offered the chance. It also stands that there is a possibility of implementation of a hybrid prorel and licensing system to ensure that top clubs are guaranteed places, whilst other clubs must earn places, similar to the RFL and Super League. This would likely see clubs like Chelsea, Man U/City, Arsenal, Liverpool and Everton, as well as potentially Swansea (Wal) and Celtic (Sco) to ensure wide appeal each year, whilst other clubs in other systems could potentially earn PL status by way of playoff. Also, Northern Ireland have their Danske Bank Premiership/NIFL Premiership, and for political reasons would probably never join the SSE Airtricity League/League of Ireland run by the rival FAI.
That is not going to happen. Why would that happen? What do you mean by "globalise the comp"?
Turn it into a non-geographically branded comp further. The Lion referred to the Three Lions on the FA (a separate body from the PL proper) shield, and the removal of this and lack of national affiliation opens it up to further internationalisation

That is absurd. You're proposing a total overhaul of an incredibly deep football league system which would stand to benefit the FA very little if at all.

I also struggle to see how removing the most famous piece of iconography the league has would somehow broaden the appeal or provide any positive benefits to the league. It's literally already the most watched football league and probably sports league in the world.

I wouldn't' mind seeing Celtic and/or Rangers join the Premier League, to be honest. But I am very fond of how the Premier League have structured their competition through promotion and relegation; and don't want to see this changed. It says that if teams are good enough, they can play in the highest leagues (eg Bournemouth), but it also keeps a large number and of teams the same from season to season. If they where to have qualifiers, it would mean that the teams would keep on changing dramatically from season to season, and we'd have a team like the Bentleigh Greens in the A-League. Plus, it would take more time to play the qualifiers, in an already packed schedule that consists of the EPL, FA Cup, Europa League, UEFA Champions League, and the FIFA Club World Cup. Not to mention national duties and the World Cup every 4 years.

Design team obviously bored and want to join every other league in doing something useful. Pretty much an iconic symbol that is recognized world wide, gone to promote Barclays. Dumb idea. Don't stuff with something that perfect.
They're dropping sponsorship as well

I've asked Queen Liz personally and she says she was lit when she made the call to cut the lion.
Well the FA needs to seek permission from the Royal Family to use the three lions so she might have had something to do with it.
