The hottest 100 was the first time I heard The Wire by Haim. There's something about it that caught my attention early and has stuck. After googling the band, I now want to have a four-some with the Haim sisters

Similar situation for me with the next song in the countdown: Strong by London Grammar, and yes, massive Hannah Reid crush right here. Always loved a woman who can sing - I'd be hopeless against the Siren Song.

Miss Judy's Farm - Faces

The filthiest of all guitar intros. All hail Ron Wood.
Been reading the Ultimate Music Guide devoted to Small Faces / Faces / Humble Pie - good stuff

The Hollies - He ain't heavy he's my brother
Neil Young - Heart Of Gold

For some oldies.

And I forgot to mention

The Calling - Wherever you will go
Xavie Rudd - Follow the Sun
Tom Odell - Just Tom Odell
So how's that working out now?

Here's one for me:

Lol, I haven't listened to that for ages. I have gotten a bit bored of it though. Unlike some of the others.

Impossible to name them all - great thread by the way:thumbsu:

First song I remember loving was as a young 'un back in Liverpool - I want to hold your hand - the Beatles.
Then it was something like;

Whole Lotta Love - Led Zeppelin (and love every other Zep song)
Black Sabbath - Black Sabbath (what the ......is this!)
House Of The Rising Sun - The Animals (& Frijid Pink)
Moon River - Andy Williams (as long as a song sounds good to me)
Badlands - Bruce Springsteen (introduced me to the Boss)
Heroes - David Bowie - (we CAN be heroes)
Jesus Of Suburbia - (thought WOW this band is good!)
You're A Big Girl Now - Lisa Miller (Australia's best voice)
Knights Of Cydonia - Muse (some of the best recent music)
Let The Day Begin - Black Rebel Motorcycle Club (my favourite recent band)

That's a small sample over the years - so many great songs:)

The Miracle of Love - Eurythmics
Love Will Lead You Back - Taylor Dayne
It Makes Me Money - Smokie

Hurricane - Bob Dylan
Unfinished Sympathy - Massive Attack
Somebody That I Used To Know - Gotye
Sail On Sailor - Beach Boys
Golden Years - David Bowie
Bye Bye Love - Ray Charles
Joe's Garage - Frank Zappa
Wide Open Road - The Triffids
Runaway Boys - Stray Cats
Venus As A Boy - Bjork

I give up. Couldn't the OP have asked "What songs did you dislike with extreme prejudice from the get go?" Would have been a lot easier.

Whole Lotta Rosie - AC/DC
After You're Gone - Dr John & Hugh Laurie
Fisherman's Blues - The Waterboys
Paradise City - Guns & Roses
Diablo Rojo - Rodrigo y Gabriela
How to Make Gravy - Paul Kelly

Just heard Train's "Drops of Jupiter" on the radio again just then. Gets plenty of praises, but again- What a ripper of a song.

Also:
Franz Ferdinand - Take me out
Coldplay - Life in Technicolor
Marc Cohn - Walking in Memphis
