Hi GD Board! My name is Kennedy Parker, I currently run the Sweet FA Board of Bigfooty where we play a simulated fantasy footy competition with the application Qooty.
Every year on the Sweet FA we hold charity events to help raise money for good causes and this year in coordination with Wosh and your wonderful moderators Gralin, Gough, MrsEddieBetts and RU_ we thought it would a really cool crossover opportunity to hold a charity exhibition game of Qooty here between the SFA Board and the GD Board.
The organisation we will be fundraising for is Sikh Volunteers Australia. Sikh Volunteers Australia is a nonprofit volunteer organization focusing on reducing distress in the community by providing FREE FOOD to disadvantaged families. They have provided free food and drinking water to communities affected by national emergency disasters such as devastating floods, bushfires and the COVID-19 pandemic.

In 2020 they were recognised by the AHRC for their efforts in providing free meals to people in need during the bushfires and COVID-19 pandemic.

How will this work?
Sign-up, pledge a donation, we'll pop your name into the Qooty simulator. And have a bit of friendly chat in the leadup. Usually to add an element of fun to the event, people often like to pledge donations based on what happens in the game e.g. "I will donate $2 for every disposal I get."
The game itself is expected to be posted on 17th of June, 2023 in this thread some time between 1-4pm (TBC).
Qooty is a football simulation program written by BigFooty's own Mobbenfuhrer, which allows a game of footy to be simulated and generated in text form. Basically, your username is entered into the program, along with 19 team-mates and an opposition of 20, and the program generates a game, with commentary and stats like this:
If you would like to be involved just put your name down, pledge a donation and we will answer any questions that you have for us!
After the event is done, we will arrange for all donors to receive a badge.
