You finally get a young goalkicking forward who has genuine size (192cm, 91kg), and you can't wait to put him in the midfield...

Stringer is at least 194cms now. Stats out of date
Club would be insane to take that firepower out of our forward line. Particularly as we already have a great young midfield.
Forward who can pinch hit in the middle.

This.
It's really just best to stick with what works and play to a player's strengths, instead of trying to re-invent the wheel. Not every player with skill and athleticism needs to become a midfielder to become a "complete" player.

On the other hand, look at him on the burst and how he either shrugs tackles or just forces his way through. That's something that everyone could love
That's part of his arsenal though, knows he can play, rates himself above everyone else out there. He is a great talent , great to watch , has X factor ! Just has to keep the head in check and not listen to the publicity and could be anything !
Agree, the only time Stringer should go into the midfield is at center bounces, and then only a few times a game.So where does all this "he's not big enough to be a key forward" rubbish come from then?

He's not the sort of player that gets votes. That award goes to the 30+ disposal engine room types. Will win a Brownlow in a couple of years guaranteed
