For some reason we are still not an overly attractive destination

Think we need to put some runs on the board in terms of results and off field administration before we're seen as a destination.

Players want to go to Collingwood, Sydney, Geelong and Hawthorn for obvious reasons and I'm hopeful Mick and Co can put the club on the map as an attractive proposition in the next couple of years.

At this point we've been so so for so long it's become a very real issue.

Thomas coming in is hopefully the start of a comeback.

The only deal I see as realistic from navy8's post would be the Collingwood one and even then the Pies would rate Shaw higher than Walker. They wouldn't throw in a pick as well.

And while I like Walks he ain't worth pick 2. Roos is not an idiot.

Can't see Geelong offering Hunt as part of that deal.

Possibly Patton or Shiel, definitely not Patton and Shiel.

Walker is worth Patton after the season he just had. Almost All-Australian, high finish in B&F and he was a #2 pick, also, and the main reason. He is a seasoned performer and adds experience to a very young side. They have to trim the roster and a 2 for 1 deal helps. #13 would get you Shiel as he is a want to go home lad and his value on the trade table is reduced. You could add laidler if they want more experience as well.

Geel Offer: no thanks Varcoe is a spud and Taylor Hunt goes alright but doesn't fill a need, 2nd is basically a third with geelong so low in the draft
Melb Offer: Yes please - would trade #2 and someone for #1 without doubt. Or if they dont vite, take Aish

1. It is the off season and we are led to believe that Walker just had a run in with MM, after having one of his best seasons in the backline.
2. If Melbourne offered us pick 2 for Walker, we wouldn't be able to sign off quick enough.

Our first wont get two first round picks out of Brisbane. Our first and 28 may get you Longer and Docherty and a late pick. GWS dont need Warnock anymore and he wouldnt agree to that trade. He came home to Melbourne from Freo. Our 2nd and Laidler might get you Tomlinson.
