Which footy words and terms irritate you?

'A-grader', 'elite' and 'gut-running' all make me cringe.

The worst to me is 'oozes class' when describing a new draftee. Seriously, who comes up with this bull?

Stupid Americanised terms piss me off as well. There is no position called 'quarter-back' on a footy field.

Closing speed. As far as I'm concerned it's the player in front slowing down to time getting to the ball right. Not the player behind magically getting faster the last 5 meters

'By hand or by foot.'

No s**t - ya mean the way they've been disposing of the ball for the last 150 years?

And don't get me started on BT's ridiculous overuse of 'candy'.

In one game he used the phrase 'foot-candy' to describe a player feigning a kick, and then five minutes later he used it again to describe a player's pin-point pass.
