Spoken like someone who's taken all five boosters
Mate. The fact you feel this is the time or place for this, says that needs to be said about you. On a burner account no less.

Regardless of your views or opinions on his views or opinions, never a good time to lose a family member.

Good reminder to check in your own health as well.

See ya Matt, all the best for the family through this sudden shock.

Fair figure around AFL circles. Such sad news.

Gives everyone perspective of whats important in life. Footy isnt the be all

Pretty good big man, Matt.
Apparently also a pretty good recruiter.
His straight talk never offended me.
It's pretty rough passing away prematurely.
All the best to his family.

Matt Rendell crossed from S.A to Fitzroy in 1981 as a tall, mobile, hard running ruckman.
1981 saw him eased into things with plenty of time forward where his high marking was a real weapon for the Roys and he kicked 45 goals in his debut year.
After ‘81 he assumed the first ruck and did so for another nine seasons. Twice Best & Fairest, twice All Australian and elevated to Captain.
He was a driving force in a good era for Fitzroy. Rendell had a positive win loss ratio of 87W 76L. He played in 7 finals.
One game is memorable.
In Round 13 1983 Fitzroy were to play the top of the table North. The Lions sprung a surprise to move Rendell to full forward. Usually that was Bernie Quinlan, but Rendell had been ruck all year and had not kicked a single goal all season. His one game forward against the top side resulted in him kicking 8 with the Roys thrashing North.
