I have a feeling my problem was strength everywhere but the Mids. Another higher ranked mid may have just slid me into the top 8. Obviously I'm not great with balancing that out.

I'm backing Grundy to be the Pies Number 1 ruck all year. So your observation gives me confidence I could do quite well come end of season.

Yep - or with a few small tweaks I would.

in the meantime what stats doe you want analysed for the aerial prowess and ground level defensive players?

Contested marks, general marks, spoils, effective spoils (if you've got that).

No bloody idea for defensive pressure. Bit like tagging, hard to put a statistical figure on it I think.

Spoils are included in 1%'s but it isn't all of the 1%'s obviously.

My boy brodie started his preseason campaign ok last night. Will be first Ruck all year if he stays injury free. 4 tackles and 4 1%'s typifying the way he plays. The touches of the footy will come (7 contested in that game not a bad start). mid 20's hitouts okay.. but will want to do a bit more to offset that if lynch getting more minutes than most 2nd rucks come the start of the season.
