Otis Harvey is a very good player watching him live. Hopefully he keeps developing and injuries leave him alone.

Yeah one of WA's very few top 20 draft contenders for next year and he should have finished PSA by 2024, so will be available for Swans more often (apart from state duties) Remembering - PSA footballers don't get a choice - it's school footy or nothing, unless there is a bye.

The others on this list who should also have finished PSA are Kayle Gerreyn (WP), Elijah Huddlestone (SD), Austin Van Der Struyf (CL), Jaxon Douglas (CL), Hamish Davis (CL), Will.Hayes (CL), Kane Bruce (EF), Orlando Keleman (SF), Andre Gulluni (EP) & Aven Drewett (S).

Hugh Boxshall (CL), Clancy Dennis (CL), Caylon Seelander (S), Tore Nelson (S), Luke Cotellessa (SD), Judd Ingleton (P), Luke Urquhart (EF), Ashton Warner (EF), Bailey Morgan (EF), Jaxon Artemis (SF), Nic Campo (SF), Riley Longson (EP) & William Akec (EP) are all July-Dec 2006 DOB's, so I guess they have another year of PSA football. Tough for these guys. They don't get a lot of opportunities to play colts in their draft year.

1 (37) Kayle Gerreyn (WP/PSA) (Highly skilled ruck/Fwd with great tap craft)

3 (5) Otis Harvey (SD/PSA)
4 (10) Malakai Champion (S)
5 (33) Cooper Moore (P) (Small but zippy midfielder who hits targets and sets up Fwd entries - his kicks count)
6 (--) Hayden Windsor (S/inj) (Athletc 190cm+ Utility who chose footy over cricket)
7 (13) Chayse Martinson (SD)
8 (--) Jesse Grant (PT) (Composed medium sized defender who can play on talls and smalls)
9 (32) Caylon Seelander (S/PSA/inj) (Quick, skilful - son of Leroy Jetta - gaining experience playing for Aquinas)
10 (8) Austin Van Der Struyf (CL/PSA)
11 (6) Darcy Petersen (PT)

12 (4) Deian Roberts (PT)

26 (--) Jack Wooden (WP) (A tough nuggety player like his old man. Not stylish but highly effective, like his old man)

Probably a silly question but what are the ranking numbers in the first list? How are they derived. And in the votes list, whose votesc are they they?
Thanks

The first list is just my current ranking which changes a bit each week. It's not who I think will get drafted but players I think should be taken notice of. Timing is everything in the draft and those that are late DOB PSA's, late developers or unfashionable sometimes wrongly get overlooked.

The second list (votes) are a combination of the 5-3-3-2-1 coaches votes for each side plus a 8-7-6-5-4-3-2-1 which myself or one of the (occasional) other watchers give for best on ground. Potentially a player could receive 13 votes in a match if the observer and coach agrees on what they saw.

Thanks very much for that. I follow the wafl colts a bit and have a step son on the list. I think your rankings are pretty close to be fair

Ok, I hope he does well. Don't tell me who he is......with a bit of luck he'll get in the state 18's next year....that is key.
At any rate, this thread is only a wim on my part to get some WA players on the radar but it's not influential in any way.

Cheers for that. Was surprised he didn't make 18s this year to be fair. Apparently due to his size. pretty sure he will make it next year. He's had a good 2 years so hoping he goes further. He is very dedicated

Footskills, decision making. Getting reward for effort. Making sure good things happen with every touch of the ball. Stuff like that matters to recruiters/scouts and I wish players would grasp that and work hard to perfect their craft.

2006 DOB players in 2023 WAFL Colts/PSA Season Complete - see you next year when this becomes the WA draft year thread - unfortunately the 100,000 characters message prevents me from posting this update on the original 2024 thread. It's actually about 4,000 characters so not sure what the problem is. Hopefully BF can fix the error for 2024

I'll give it another try to set this up for next season.

Jesse Grant won Peel's colts B&F last night as a bottom ager. Bo Allan 3rd.
Awesome...A F&B, team of the year placing. Phew!... glad I have him high up on the list. From memory he wasn't in the WA 16's either. Best part of this is seeing players move through the rankings.

Will again get to watch a fair bit of PSA football this year as have 2 nephews playing. Thought I would offer my thoughts on who I like for the 2024 group this year that should be the standouts for their respective schools and should be in the mix next year. These guys get limited chances to play in their colts teams this year but will get a good run at it next year. Futbolista does a great job keeping us up to date on the colts season and players so I will see how I go updating you with the PSA boys. Please feel free to let me know if you think I have missed anyone.

Austin Van Der Struyf (CL)
Hamish Davis (CL)
Jaxon Douglas (CL)
Will.Hayes (CL)

Those who most likely will still be attending PSA and won't often be available based on their late DOB

Luke Cotellessa (SD)
Clancy Dennis (CL)
Hugh Boxshall (CL)
Caylon Seelander (S)
Tore Nelson (S)
Yeabsera Fasil (S)
William Akec (EP)
Riley Longson (EP)
Luke Urquhart (EF)
Ashton Warner (EF)
Bailey Morgan (EF)
Nick Campo (SF)
Jaxon Artemis (SF)
Judd Ingleton (P)

The players in the second list are going to have to make the most of the early WAFL games before school footy begins, take advantage of every PSA bye and then make an impact late/finals. It's always tough for these guys.
