Except that arsehole communists in Che shirts are tolerated pretty much. You can see them walking around any university campus on any given day anywhere in Australia. Try the same thing wearing a Swastika and you would be arrested for disturbing the peace. Very much a double standard. The fact is that many on the left are still extremely sympathetic to communist and socialist groups.
Anyone who was known to have a past involved with fascism or neo-nazi organisations is a pariah in Australia. Yet many Labor and Greens politicians (including Julia Gillard and Lee Rhiannon) were overt communists in their youth, and nobody seems to care.

Leahy might be right. I went and saw Eliot Cohen speak these days and in his mind the 20th and 21st centuries have led us to believe that conflict is short, and has a defined start and end. A longer view of history shows this isn't the case.

That's a bit of an understatement. Most Arabic nations won't let anyone in that has a stamp from Israel in their passport, let alone being an Israeli citizen. Malaysia or Indonesia do not allow Israelis either. Islam is a cancer.

People seem to forget that radical Islam has existed for centuries, hell its founder persecuted and executed those that didn't follow him. The West also forgets that this is a religion/culture that has attempted to invade Europe several times in the last few millennia. I can only imagine what would have happened had the Ottoman Empire not disintegrated as a result of WW1.
Islam as a religion is extremist in some ways. It is the secularisation of many of its' adherents that has prevented it from being more of a scourge.

It's fine by you if Arab nations don't want to let Westerners into their countries, but what if USA/UK/Aus decided not to let people from Islamic countries in, you'd be up in arms and calling racist left, right and centre. Why is there any difference?

All the Jews i know love this country. some dont drive on saturdays, most do. Many had grandparents that emigrated here after the war and are thankful to have been accepted and allowed to reside here in peace whether they practice their religion or not.
all repay that faith by successfully integrating into this country's way of life and embrace its culture, be it footy, beer BBQs or other. None spruik violence against other australians.
