Ratts has said on the radio 10 or so senior players will be left behind in melbourne for this game. seems a good move.

looks like we'll finally see all our young blokes getting a run at the same time! hopefully we look at saturdays performance and play some better footy :thumbsu:

We're playing WC in Alice Springs and I doubt it will be televised so we won't be able to see Carlton's game this week. :(

No road trip?:D

I mentioned that we are playing in Alice Springs to my mother last night. Her immidiate response was "would you like me to check the air fares for you?".

Looks like I might be burning my a*se off compiling a report this week:thumbsu:.

Wow, ur mum sounds tops. :thumbsu: You should have said the same thing when we played in south africa, she might have sent u on safari!

Good move, after what happened to Brad Dick of collingwood this weekend why risk players in the heat and another road trip this close to season proper.

The group not going will be best served by working on skills in a semi-contatct intraclub practice game.

I expect Ratten to just use this game to practice some 'other' things just to see how the boys respond. We'll lose but who cares!

NAB Challenge Cup... BLAH!

Did you see how well we executed the new game plan?

We need practice.....BADLY.

Who says it was the new game plan?? Ratts has repeatedly said he wants to try a few things and having just watched the first half of the game again I seriously doubt this is what the players have been practicing as the game plan during the pre-season.

What we saw may perhaps be part of game-plan B or C but no doubt would Ratts want that much use of handball. Also what really seemed to hurt us was our short kicking in the game where the NAB rules require 20+ metres not the 15 we seemed to kick that caused us a bit of strife.

She's got the boyfriend coming over ...you can count on it ;)
Mother insists on going if we are to rock up to Alice, so I bloody hope he's not coming over!:)

Lol :D

Ten senior players. Could they possibly be:

Fevola
Stevens
Houlihan
Scotland
Waite
Simpson
Thornton
Murphy
Carrazzo
Gibbs
Looks about right, although i'd rather we played Thornton this week. I think he needs a little bit of a tune up, although a few of his skills have been pretty good so far.

I'll be sure to check every thread on BF before I reply in the first thread I open for the day

I think this could be a side. Combination of what I think will happen and what I want to happen.

Out: Carrots, Simpson, Fev, Waite, Scotland (already confirmed), Wiggins (form. better off getting time into kids), Austin (form), Armfield (no reason. done well. just need to give some others a go), Russell (needs to be sent to ants to show we're serious), Cloke (rest)

B: J.Anderson M.Jamison P.Bower
HB: S.Grigg B.Thornton D.Pfeiffer
C: M.Murphy R.Hadley N.Stevens (C)
HF: R.Houlihan A.Hartlett R.Jackson
F: E.Betts J.Edwards M.Kreuzer
OB: S.Hampson A.Walker B.Gibbs (VC)
I/C: S.Browne S.O'hailpin A.Oh'Ailpin D.Ellard

Of the senior players who could have been rested I kept Thornton, Houla and Stevns for experience and to ensure we don't get smashed. Despite what some say playing all the youngsters and getting smashed isn't good for anyone. Will be good for all those yound guys getting more midfield time as well.

In: Hartlett, Anderson (home town boy and played well for ants), Browne (played well for ants and needs opportunity), A.OhAilpin (confirmed), Walker (confirmed), S.O'hAilpin (confirmed)
