I'll pay that. At least you're articulate. But it's sad that attempts to lift the standard of this board are met with such opposition and ridicule. How very Oz-tralian!! Me, I say what I mean and other people can undertsand what I say. Clearly, many people here are happy to speak in broken dialects where the meaning is not always clear.

I pointed out that "here here" was incorrect, and explained what "hear hear" actually means. If that makes me a knob, so be it. My apologies for ruining the blissful ignorance of this discussion board!

It was probably more the tone of your posts that made people annoyed at you. They had a strong air of superiority about them whether it was intended or not. No one likes being talked down too... unless they're into kinky things and want to be the "submissive"

Well it is the "Don't you hate these guys?" thread... and I am irked by the number of posters here (not "hear") that use words or expressions which they clearly do not understand, let alone know how to spell! Letting such butchery slide without correction only perpetuates the problem. I have a strong command of the English language, but I still use a dictionary reguarly... I wish others would do the same. I think that bad spelling and using incorrect words stems from laziness more than a lack of education or intelligence (although that's usually the impression made).

I saw a recent BF post where a person referred to a coach as being "strick" (meaning "strict"). WTF??!?!?! Sorry, but I come here seeking intelligent discussion!



It's not the preferred spelling- it's the correct spelling! "Here here" is, quite simply, WRONG! You've seen it written both ways (mostly incorrectly on this board) because so many people are ignorant and can't be bothered doing a 3 second Google!!

If "here here" makes as much sense to you as "hear hear", I would suggest you're probably not clear on the origin or actual meaning of the expression.... but I am thrilled that you did bother to look it up!!

There was a great moment in The Simpsons, where Homer was talking to some Reader's Digest Execs. Homer said he loved their regular feature that helped readers improve their vocabularies. He said he found the feature "really.... really.... really.... good". Ha ha ha. It's funny, because it's true!

The government should monitor the fanfooty chat and slowly kill them off one by one. Im not sure how much extra traffic you are getting because of the chat thing but since it has been going I rarely visit the live scoring anymore.

I'm sure you know that you can turn the chat off by adding &delay=0 to the URL. But maybe m0nty could add a button "Turn off chat" which does exactly this.

Im not sure how I would have known this, I am a computer ****. But I will try it on Saturday. If m0nty added a turn off chat button it would be the best thing for his site, or even just have a seperate link for chats to games.

Well the only conclusion i can come to on this board is that 80% of the people who post on it are tools who are about as usefull as **** on a bull!
I have given up posting queries or questions regarding trades etc when no one bothers to even reply or help you out, is there anywhere on this whole board where people actually help you out with informed opinions and discussion about football rather than who can and can't spell!
