heard more bad news out of thomastown , not only did they lose there captain, they have lost folino and another 2 or 3 key players... looks like they will do a hurstbridge and come straight back down....

Pretty sure he trained at Lalor in 2002. Put in a clearance to leave north but it was knocked back. Took it to apeal but the then DVFL refused the appeal. I supose the answer to your questions is yes.
thank u i only tell the facts because i know:thumbsu: king **** teasers clubs every year to pump up his little ego

apparently the big red has decided to give the game away, does anybody no if this is true, it will hurt lalor if it is true!!

Whats the go with players wanting to leave a club - going to another competition but signed a contract after the last game for season 09.

Can the club hold the person to ransom or if it is another league, the player can go through the normal process or appeal process etc etc.

Thanks in advance

yep the only way clubs can keep a player is theyhave signed or owe money. or else they are free to leave. because its easier to leave these days a contract is almost impossible for the player to get out of unless club agrees. who are you talking about?:thumbsu:

I have no doubt this mob will do a Hurstbridge. Capeci crap anyway too slow, too fat would struggle to play 1 good quarter. Good recruit for Watsonia left overs

I am happy to stand corrected on this but I thought that the contracts were only valid between the NFL and Eastern. Outside of this they are not valid and players can go were they wish:confused:

The Northern Football League (DVFL) will continue to trial the player transfer system as endorsed by AFL Victoria for the 2008 season. Following its introduction in some leagues in 2005, the player transfer system has been expanded to be used in the following leagues:

1. Dandenong & Districts Junior Football League
2. Northern Football League
3. Diamond Valley Football League
4. Eastern Football League
5. Moorabbin Saints Junior Football League
6. Mornington Peninsula Nepean Football League
7. Riddell District Football League
8. Southern Football League
9. Victorian Women’s Football League
10. Waverley Junior Football Association
11. Western Region Football League
12. Yarra Junior Football League
13. Yarra Valley Mountain District Football League

So the answer is -

If the club doesn't let them go - a player that has signed has no option to either play for that side or sit out a season (or play ammos?)

The VAFA have a fairly strict policy on players/coaches that apply to join the ammos after they have payed good money for their services at their previous club. So in some cases that isn't an option either.

Players can try and negotiate their way out of contract, however it may cost the club of destination either by financial re-inbursement or the old give us a couple of barrels trick.

Thats interesting are we now doing contracts for KIDS, I did not think that was what Junior Football was about? Or is there a difference here between contracts and player transfers.

also on the grapevine is that a certain ex monty junior also knights b/f , now in S.A has contacted the bergs looking for a game. seems as though he dont like getting sand in his eyes.
Would be rubbing salt into the wounds if true but you can't blame a bloke for not wanting to return to a club on the verge of financial collapse. Speaking of mont can someone tell me how they have re-signed that ******* of a coach? he is the sole reason they lost the grand final. I also heard a humorous story about big Zac during 3/4 time of that game, but I will save that one for later.

It's good to hear that a few young players (All have played TAC footy or higher) are sticking together and going to play down at panther place instead of heading bush where they were all offered good money. Some of the players are retuning to the club, whilst some have had no previous connection apart from they're mates have played there. Don't know if they have been promised anything. You wouldn't have thought so, seeing what has happened in the off season.

Yeh i've heard the same thing about a heap of coburg tigers/bullants & ex knights players heading down there. Could be the start of something!

Tim Bongetti has signed with Werribee for a lazy $700. wonder if hes getting travel allowance haha when a club a little closer could have pulled more money out of the tills. Guess he aint going to get noticed playing for a local footy club
