Happy Australia Day to all fellow Collingwood supporters, but I am troubled.
It just occurred to me that we don't have a national holiday, or even a day of recognition for the Birthday/Creation of the Collingwood Foootball Club.
Looking back through the archives (Kill for Collingwood book to be precise) I see our official endorsement took place on February 12th, 1892.
So therefore, I submit that from this year on, February 12th be called "Collingwood Day", and be celebrated in the same fashion and grandeur that Australia Day is.
Imagine the enjoyment our "masses" would get, we could have an awards ceremony for "Collingwoodian of the Year" (still playing with that name) and hand out other such prestigious awards.
The day could coincide with our family day at Gosch's Paddock and be a merry old day for all.
What do you think, should "Collingwood Day" be given the royal (or National) tick of approval.
