With the NRL season starting next w/e i thought we could create a thread to discuss the NRL last man standing comp.

OK i know nothing about NRL and my choices will prob be based on sportingbet odds. This thread could be used to exchange any little NRL info and traps anyone is aware of (ie. Collingwood v Sydney at telstra stadium = Collingwood win, regardless of form and odds :footy: ).

If no ones interested it will die.

I'm interested (if this is the SportingBet LMS), although similarly to you, I know little about NRL outside of the Melbourne Storm.

Any "near certs" for round 1 to start us off?

Knowing nothing might actually help our cause going by the amount of random results last year.

i'm just going to pick the dragons, get it over and done with early.

Hope so,
i think im going to go with Titans

last time they played whoever they are playing they easily won away from home. This game is at the Titans home ground.

To put it in AFL terms its a poor traveeling team in West Coast, travelling to Brisbane who are solid at home.

The titans only lost 1 game at home last year IIRC, a game I had money on . The warriors on the other hand are tipped by many to finish last, and nearly every game they win this yr will be in NZ.

:thumbsu: Thanks for puting it in AFL terms, it really helps. Titans for me.

Titans absolute morals at home against the Warriors, just about lock in Penrith at home against Canberra and probably Souths at home to the Roosters and Canterbury at home to Newcastle. At least 3 games (Brisbane vs Nth Qld, Parra vs St.George, Tigers vs Manly) are real coinflips so avoid those 6. Melbourne are probably the best bet to stay alive of those away teams this week (playing Cronulla)

2 locks this week. Titans and Bulldogs. I will be sticking with the Titans though, as they are wearing their alternate white strip and forcing the Warriors to wear their black home strip. If the weather heats up for the 1pm kick off, then the Warriors might just bake. They will also be without new captain Simon Mannering and ex Captain Steve Price

We should set up a BigFooty League!

I have no idea about NRL either.

Spoke to a friend and he thinks Parra are locks this week.

Canterbury or Melbourne for myself.

Luxbet have the same sort of competition happening as well, so might as well do one of each.

Or you could all play for a first prize of $150,000 in the Sportsbet comp. - plus a stack of minor monthly and weekly prizes.

I Know where i'll be after i get knocked out of LMS this week!
