Hi everyone.

Firstly thanks to Deestroy for allowing me to post it up here.

I recently did an interview with former demons player Shannon Motlop.

Some of the questions that came up were:

What are your memories of the Melbourne Football Club? Do you still have friends there who you catch up with here and there?

After your time at North Melbourne you played for North Adelaide in the SANFL, and then you were given a second chance at the start of the following year, when Melbourne recruited you as a replacement for Troy Broadbridge, who tragically died in the Boxing Day disaster. How did that come about?

What are your memories of the Melbourne Football Club? Do you still have friends there who you catch up with here and there?

As a retired AFL footballer, who do you barrack for now?

Shannon Motlop: Premierships, racisim & life after AFL

Feel free to give it a read.

Thanks to Shannon for allowing me to interview him.

Cheers and good luck for the rest of the season :thumbsu:

Thanks Power, it was a good read... Is he still relatively fit???

Cheers DR.

He is currently playing footy. If that says something .

Seems to have a huge connection with MFC :thumbsu:

He could seriously play as well. But like all Motlop's he suffered a few shoulder injuries if I'm not wrong. Probably the type of player who if he cemented himself into a best 22 at a young age might have played 150 games not 64. Hopefully he enjoyed his time at Melbourne despite it being brief and not getting a huge run in the seniors, but at least he's got the VFL flags to show for it.

something with melbourne players (even if they played only a little of their careers here) seem to be dees supporters, i heard pickett was as well. BTW there is a woey article coming up on the dees website.

Great read PowerIStough

PowerIsTough... you missed asking him about his thoughts on the situation that lef to him joining the MFC, and how it impacted him as a person and how he handled it.

As we all know he came to the MFC as a replacement player for the spot left open b the unfortunate passing of Troy Broadbridge (RIP).

But looks like it was more of a casual footy chat, so I guess I understand not wanting to ask such a heavy question.

Great read though mate - nice one :thumbsu:

How did you arrange to meet with him and why did you chose him?

Via email.

I'm in Melbourne and he is in Adelaide. A friend of a friend. He played for North and Melbourne and he was an preimership player for North aswell.

Thanks mate :thumbsu:
