Would it be considered careless to lose a football manager a few weeks before the season starts for the second year in a row?

ABH - who's the "good" looking bloke I spotted at Manuka in his Tiges polo without a mo? He looks tens years younger!!!

Hi All, anybody seen any pre-season games, spotted a new "gun" or gathered thoughts on who is on the improve/decline?
............. plus Fixter to there on ball division .
Who else is making predictions for the makeup of ladder at seasons end?
Is Ben Fixter here, I hear yes/no/yes/maybe/yes/no. I heard he was back in Holbrook or similar?
Everyone has been fairly quiet of late. Any practice matches played this week? Results?
We arent sure if anyone has noticed but A Bit High has been unusually quiet on here of late. We have had word that the new Queanbeyan Coach has asked that A Bit High refrain from commenting on Queanbeyan football in this forum. from the word is that his young group will find this distracting, and he has been asked to stop post haste.
Michael G, can you shed any light from the coaches perspective?
GoisSpeed Racer - in the words of Shultz from Hogan's Heroes..."I know nussink!!" I can neither confirm nor deny your rumour.
As a coaching panel we are very honest with our playing group, giving praise where it is due and constructive criticism where it is waranted. The boys, to their credit, have been very good when we've had to let them know about deficiences that we've seen and areas we want them to improve in.
Having read this forum for a couple of years now, while I haven't been involved with Qbn, I think ABH has followed the same philosophy, giving appropriate measures of praise and criticism at times so I can't see any problem if he continues to post in the same fashion.
On a footy note, we were dissapointing against Eastlake on the weekend but we know exactly where things went wrong so will be able to address those issues. Eastlake played pretty well. They'll stretch a lot of defences when they go with their tall forward set up, which included a rejuvenated Stafford Cooper who looked pretty good for an old bloke. I can say that because we played against each other that many years ago that I care not to remember. Suffice to say that there are kids playing first grade footy at the moment who weren't even born when we first stood each other. He still looks fit and is very dangerous on the field, while I'm more likely to tear something on the way from the coaches box these days.
On another note (I haven't quite got the umpire side of my brain completely out of the system yet) what does everyone think of the interpretation of "advantage" this year. Personally I don't like it. I think it should still be the umpire's call, not the player receiving or picking up the ball. That's just my two cents worth from a playing/coaching perspective.
Also, I hear that in all grades Div 2 and below a yellow card/red card system will be implemented by round one. My understanding (and I'm sure it will be clarified in the next few weeks or corrected on this forum if I've got it wrong) is that a yellow card will be issued for reportable offences and also for some lesser offences. A yellow card will be used like the sin bin in Rugby League and will mean the player will be sent to the bench for 15 mins. He can be replaced on the field though. A red card will be automatic for anyone who gets two yellows or commits a serious offence. Red will mean that the player is sent off for the rest of the match, plus for a 15 minute period he cannot be replaced on the field (his teams plays one short for 15 minutes).
If this is the way it is going to operate it sounds pretty harsh but fair to me. What does everyone else think?
Cheers,
Gois
