Rematch time. Adelaide host Melbourne at AAMI Stadium.

Adelaide 1.1.7, 4.2.26, 6.7.43, 6.10.46
Melbourne 2.2.14, 5.4.34, 5.6.36, 7.7.49

D 124-118 M 34-35 T 66-47 P% 33.9-31.7 HO 8-28 I50 28-18

Another classic.

Brad Green kicked the matchwinner with a minute on the clock.

Liking the stats changes.

Just started a custom season with the 4 teams I have changed the stats with
Hawks, Pies, Cats and Crows
I will play as the Hawks and instead of siming the cpu I will watch the matches so the scores are realistic. I will do this because I am sure you are all aware that 5 min qtr simed stats are too low

If I am happy with these results I will go through and change all the teams.
It would suck to change all the teams and then get crap results in a season because it takes a bit of time to change them

I have set it up to play each team twice and all 4 in the finals
Hopefully I will get some varying but realistic results

First off, enjoyed your work done on the ratings...

I adjusted the ratings to test how the game plays, I dropped the tackling and increased break tackle as suggested which helps see a few more breakaways... In terms of the tackle count, its always extremely high, but is this because they count every attempted tackle, whilst the AFL stats are counted based on the effectiveness of a tackle?

Also dropped the goal kicking and its been great to see the score be a bit more realistic, kicking goals 40 metres out on the boundary is much harder which make you center the ball more... but you can still kick the freak Didak or Judd runnning goals, just not every time.

I also dropped the Reaction time of players, this has appeared to allow for a bit more time to make decisions as the CPU doesn't react as quickly. I only dropped it by 10 so the players with great reaction times still are quick to react...

I was wondering it it was possible that Ross or someone from BigAnt would be able to post a description or details of what each attribute rating does...
Obviously some are self explainatory such as Mark, Mark Jostle and Spoiling...
Some leave a little bit to imagination such as Speed, Accelleration and Agility as Judd is slower than Patrick Ryder, but does size and weight impact these ratings?
The other ratings i was wondering about was Reaction Time and Decision Making? Is reaction time are sort of defensive awareness in that players react to leads quickly, react to player change of direction. As this is what i found when i adjusted it,in-game.

The other factor about ratings I wanted to ask, is some of the hidden ratings that created players can not adjust such as Bump, Strength, Jumping and Ball Pick-up etc. Why are these not adjustable?

Also, whilst discussing this about ratings, Would it be possible to include some gameplay sliders in a patch, so that we can adjust ratings as a whole and not individual players? such as tackling and goal kicking? and maybe a slider that increases the gap between minimum and maximum speed?

Apologies about the long post, just wondering about others thoughts.

My thoughts are any form of individually altering stats is a long and annoying process because you pretty much have to do it for like 35 players per team so others dont slot it unedited.

Works better(tried with Freo vs WC) however I lost interest in editing fairly quickly. Would be better if there was some other way to edit multiple players stats or share custom teams/players....

i recommend doing this, i've edited four teams so far and i find the game to be even better. keep up the good work Lyncha

It take a lot of time to edit the players individually, it is why a Slider system in the gameplay options would be very handy, it has been used in most other sports games such as NBA 2k series and Madden. It allows you to adjust how you want the game to play as your preference decides... This would be a very handy addition...

Being Ross said we can take them into the season with adjusted stats after the patch, will you be doing that? - So will you be editing every team?

Yes I will be editing all the teams once I am happy with my adjustments
I still feel that handballing is too accurate with players like Roughead, Stratton etc.

And Cuz I was actualy thinking about raising the awareness stat to make the CPU a bit more difficult

I know it can take a bit of time to edit all the players, here are a few things I do to help speed it up
Change each team via position
Makes it much easier as there are less players on the screen and you won't forget who you've changed especially when your tired
Um well ok not a few things just one

Also I will be putting up an update on my custom season later today

sorry i don't edit the rookies and lesser known players. i want make sure it all works perfectly and then ill edit them. also once i get going its rather quick. im up to nine teams now. still messing around with some changes of my own

Lyncha, I think the offensive awareness needs to be better so that they kick the ball and move it on better... this would allow the CPU to break down the pressure better, as sometimes you get matched up well and they just kick it side to side and then make a mistake... So I think the offensive awareness needs to be better, I think its Decision Making...

I think the Reacion Times relate to defensive side of things and that it should be lowered as i did to allow some more breakaways to counter the Magnetic feel that allows slower players to catch the Rioli's of the game when they have the ball.

Finally got around to finishing my custom season
Here are the results
(keep in mind I was Hawthorn)
Round 1
Pies 13.5.83 Crows 6.10.46, Cats 9.11.65 Hawks 10.16.76

Round 2
Hawks 9.12.66 Pies 8.11.59, Cats 15.6.96 Crows 7.3.45

Round 3
Pies 9.10.64 Cats 6.6.42, Hawks 14.16.100 Crows 7.9.51

Round 4
Pies 10.9.69 Cats 6.6.42, Hawks 20.12.132 Crows 6.10.46

Round 5
Hawks 6.8.44 Pies 9.7.61, Cats 7.15.57 Crows 4.4.28

Round 6
Pies 15.7.97 Crows 10.5.65, Cats 6.8.44 Hawks 14.4.88

Final Ladder
W L Pts %
Hawks 5 1 20 155.21
Pies 5 1 20 141.97
Cats 2 4 8 93.51
Crows 0 6 0 49.73

Cats only won against Crows and I split the games with the Pies

All finals ended up being in the rain

Finals Week 1
Hawks 14.10.94 Crows 4.4.28, Pies 3.10.28 Cats 9.5.59

As expected I beat the Crows but the Cats upset the Pies to set up a rematch from '08

Grand Final
Hawks 11.8.74 Cats 9.6.60

Much closer then final score suggests
Cats kicked 3 in a row in the 4th to be up by 1pt with 10mins remaining then I kicked 2 in the last 2 mins to win it!

Overall fairly happy, I think if I up the reaction times it will make the cpu defence tougher as that was my only real issue with the changes
I will also look into changing the handball stats so that you can tell when you are handballing with an elite player and struggle when not

I think I've found the perfect changes
On top of the other changes I added +10 reaction time to defenders only

Hawks 7.8.50 Pies 8.8.56
T 76-80 Possesion 29.4 - 34.0 HO 22-17

Tight game all the way through and I just couldn't take a mark in my forward 50 late in the game
I will test these settings 10 min qtrs and see what happens

Yeah a Slider system would be great, works so well in NBA 2k.

Also another thing I like about 2k is the ability to upload custom teams and stuff, being able to do that and have one person do one team would speed the process up a lot.

Maybe something to look at in future editions.

I thought before I try a 10 min qtr game I would try my new changes against Adelaide as this would give me a true reflection because I had been smashing them by 50+

AAMI Stadium, 5 min qtrs, Legend

Crows 9.12.66 Hawks 12.8.80

Didn't get a chance to write down the other stats as I had to go

Much closer then previous games I have had against them
Scores a bit too high to change to 10 min qtrs
Otherwise very happy

Not sure if it effects trophies
I would advise just changing 2 teams and see if you like the changes
Then change the rest if you do

im having trouble with trhis cuz i changed hawthorns stats and went to a exibition game and and it came up with the little footy factory logo wich means its been modified so i then i tried to modify another team and for some reason its not recognizing it as modified anyone one have that issue?

Yes I have the same issue
It seems to only put the FF logo if you've edited the Lineups
Don't worry all your stat changes are in effect

WOW, how good is this, Just changed a couple of my key players.

Full Forward, Changed his marking now marks a lot more.

On Ballers, Changed speed and you can tell the difference.

Back line, Changed there speed and spoil skills.

Trying to keep it real, dont want to change too much, also watching the money in the clubs pockets.
