The AFLPA passed on the message to all AFL clubs that they're not to do any deals with Marinis. Toovey needs to get a new manager if he wants to work out any deals with other clubs.

I'm fairly sure I read somewhere that Marinis is not actually his manager except in the sense that he does the negotiating. My understanding is that Marinis is under contract to an agency and an accredited manager would be available to sign off on any deal.
That said, the guy is a total arseh*le and he has destroyed Toovey's reputation through very poor advice. Tool!

He is not even a credible AFL player agent. I would be careful about giving up on Toovey until you know exactly what he knew of this guys intentions to shop him around and demand another player be sacrificed for his pay packet.
It would be sad to lose a premiership player purely because his "manager" likes to big note himself in a place where he has no idea, but thinks he can bluff his way through the learning process.
If Toovey can cut the guy loose, everyone may be able to save enough face to sit down and talk it through like adults. I have a fair idea how Malthouse would handle it, not sure how Buckley is likely to react though. It may already be too late.
It may be too late Jabba, Bux has made no secret that he is going to be chasing players with elite foot skills, Tooves although a great role player is not anywhere near elite so that is one nail in his coffin.

He is a SPOKESPERSON for the company that Manages Toovey based out of WA.
This SPOKESPERSON will talk a lot of shit, try and squeeze money out of Collingwood through the media, and then his actual manager will step in when paperwork is ready to be signed.

I thought that was just the line they were running with after they got embarrassed?
Actually I think I posted a similar line somewhere early today. I think the truth actually is a little different but the effect is much the same. My understanding now is that Marinis is an associate of the firm which indeed does employ a fully credentialled player manager. In the end, it still means he can act for Toovey but he cannot sign off on any deals struck.
