Toast Lachie Keeffe signs two-year deal

I couldn't see a particular thread on this, so I thought it may be worth creating one. I am wrapped at the new signing. To be honest, when I first watched Keefe, I was dubious and didn't really gel to the kid. He looked awkward up forward and just seemed to miss something. However, put him into defence and it is a different story. As we all know, he has been playing amazingly for us and can only get better. I just love his poise under pressure. Its almost veteran like. Oh and his kicking ability and marking for mine are nearly as good as Reids. So congrats to him and to the Pies!

Interesting that with a number of the long term injured players, the Club has moved quickly to finalise contracts with them post injury (Krakour, Ball, Keefe IIRC). This is no doubt a great show of support for the player and would give them a mental boost in that initial period of disillusionment post-injury. I wonder if this is strategic or just coincidence? If so, smart by the club.

Side by side isn't just a slogan at this club, they are part of the team, injured in the performance of their duties therefore the club shows that loyalty goes two ways here.

Great to see him sign up he comes across as well rounded and decent young man and it is good to see perseverance by both the club and the player pay off.I also think there may have been a few clubs sniffing around to see if they could sign he has some upside too him does Lachie.

I think it gets lost on people that Lachie had, for all intents and purposes, not touched an Aussie Rules football before 2007.

Yep couldn't agree more mate, coming from virtually a non contact sport to playing so well in just his 14 odd AFL games.

Great signing, 204cm defenders don't grow on trees, still learning our game and has tremendous upside imo.

Hoping he can eventually take some ruck duties.

Great to see the club reward his efforts. Has helped hold down our defence in the absence of some gun players and has done admirably, hopefully he comes back bigger and stronger next year.

Her name is Margaret Nolan, it's from a movie called "Carry on Girls". It was released in 1973.

I haven't seen the movie, but I saw that and decided to make a gif
