Why is everyone so adamant about getting Malthouse? Throw the cheque book at Roosy. Seriously, this is looking as bad as the 2007 death by Pagan.

So what are the positives out of tonight ?
McInnes got another run.
Collins will be OK.
Murph got match time.

Anything else?

Disgusting umpiring. So many bad calls.

Nevertheless, woeful performance. Average team. Big shake ups needed to even win two finals in this generation. Don't worry about a flag. Will not win one with this group.

Unfortunately it is called:
  • Playing with ZERO intensity
  • Picking the wrong team (how Thornton could be left out is criminal)
  • Having ZERO confidence (Garlett etc)
  • Being out-muscled on the ball as we have no size or strength
  • Not having a Plan B (or actually even a Plan A)
  • etc etc
Don't blame the coach. It's the players who aren't getting up for the contest, converting and chasing. Nearly the same team that rolled Collingwood.

Nonsense to say that Thornton would have been the difference after Henderson started well forward.

Why is it all Ratten's fault?
Warnock got suspended, Hampson got injured, so our back up ruckman is a 19 year old defender.
We lost Tuohy RIGHT before the match, so we had to re-structure within 5 minutes.
Walker was off for 13 minutes without making the sub, so we were down in rotations.
Walker was then subbed off in the first quarter so any further injuries would damage our rotations.
Joseph then gets injured and our rotations are down by one.
That's not Ratten's fault at all.

You can't blame a game on the umpires, but seriously some of the decisions tonight have been quite poor and you never know which way a free kick is going to go or why it will be given.

Murphy is in his first game back, like Henderson.
Things went against us from the start, and we've been on the back foot from the start.
It's not Ratten's fault.

Not moving Duigan earlier. Kind of says it all about his coaching.

ok. i think it's fair enough if people want to defend ratten... so long as they let the unruly mob come out swinging against the players. we can't say it's not rattens fault and then act as if the players are faultless too.

These umpires are just gifting the ****s goals left right and centre. I know were losing but for **** sake - talk about sucking the life out of a team! ****!!!

You would have to think that Garlett just has to be dropped now. Not saying he isnt trying, but it isnt going his way and he looks lost. Must have a spell in the magoos now.

Dunno if that will be the answer, I feel like if he could kick a couple of goals it would help his confidence.

+1

really sums it up when commentators reckon Brisbane in Melbourne is a tough game.

We had a reasonable 22 on paper. I think we put a lot of homework into Woods (with some inside knowledge) and performed fairly well. This week without the homework? and a couple of hiccups and we have no answer. Ratts at the very least needs help

this could be biggest lossing margin for the year????

will have to say now we are done for the year. Time to start planning for the future. Head the injured off to the doc and play the kids. We can say it was injuries etc but now it becomes a simple maths thing. We will not make the 8. What a season that promised so much..

Need a fair game and this wasnt one of them.
Despite all the shitty umpiring, we were 3 goals down 10 min into the 3rd. Our captain tried his upmost to drag the other 20 blokes into something that looked like a footy team but we are a mentally soft, fractured playing group.
