Yet to play anyone who seems to be able to use the target system. Dont think Ive seen one hit tit in the midfield or coming out of defence.

Its simply make a stupid custom side with a good ruckman, grab the ball and kick it long.

Lame.

Would like to challenge someone using default GOTY teams if there is anyone out there.

im pretty sure the ios game is the same as the wii game and u can turn mini contests off on the ipod game. Check the settings menu, cos im pretty sure u should be able to turn them off.

Cheers mate. I did have go through the options and change this, so it is much better now. My major quibble at this point in time is the difficulty level. Easily win the game on Hard mode, but Legend mode is frustrating (as opposed to being challenging). The AI for your own players seems to drop significantly (the are in horrible positions, such as OUTSIDE the boundary for example) while the AI for the computer goes into the 'cheating' category (e.g., constantly pushing your players into the ground just prior to a ball up).

They also break just about every tackle and when you do tackle, they drop the ball (no free kick though) and/or it justs rolls to another opponent. I had about 100 tackles in my last game (4 x 5 minute quarters) compared to about 10 from the computer.

I'm not one to shy away from a challenge, but it's annoying when developers adjust difficulty level by making the game cheat (hello Mario Party and Nintendo games in general) rather then improving AI.

I've resorted to playing the first half on legends mode and then the second half on hard mode (or vice versa) to create a good contest. This way, I am either defending my lead or trying to catch up.

i still manage to keep the AI down to 6 goals while kicking 20 myself. On Legendary.

Its not cheating if you can keep the ball off the opposition.

Learn to target players or kick to space to your runners advantage. Open up the opposition and it doesnt matter if they go on an unstoppable 5 goal burst.

So finally got the PC version after playing on the very different Wii game. Still getting used to X-Box controls.

Had an unexpected surprise when I made my first custom team. I made a 'Hobart' team primarily out of retired or delisted players from the past few years ie Ladson, Tuck, Davis, Laycock. Wierdly, when I played against them, the commentators actually call Laycock by name, although his name is not a nickname option and he's been out of the game for the last couple of years.

Does anyone know how this happens? Is it something unique to PC?

It's not unique to pc, sometimes there were pre recorded names not featured in the footy factory, for example the names of delisted players.
What's your gamertag? we should play some online.

Hi everyone.

Just playing through my first season, and I accidentally simulated one of the games when I didn't want to?

Is there a way to go back and fix this besides restarting the whole season, or do I just have to move on to the next one?

Also, can autosave be turned off?

I ordered the PC version on Sunday from The Gamesmen via eBay and the postman delivered it to me here at work a few hours ago :thumbsu: Look forward to checking it out when I get home. I'll be happy to play online well when I've got the hang of the game, hopefully against others that aren't using custom super teams! lol

Fired up the game last night for a bit, was getting my butt kicked by GWS on Amateur :(. Really need to reconfigure the controls (use to PES 2012). lol

A few things I noticed right away, nothing major except for perhaps the controller.

- There is no vsync support in the game, despite me forcing it on in the control panel (I have an Nvidia card). Not really an issue as I don't notice any screen tearing. Games runs at around 80fps in-game.

- I have a Logitech wireless controller (not the new F710), it's about 4 or so years old now, but works just like the F710. The problem I have, (and it may be my controller, not the game, or I have to use the Logitech Profiler to fix this?), but when I press the MODE button, this switches between activating the left thumb stick and the D-Pad. When activating for the use of the left thumb stick, the guy I am controlling automatically moves downwards. (same thing happens in PES 2012). If I switch to the use the D-Pad, in PES 2012 I can still use the left thumb stick and the guy I am controlling no longer moves down automatically, but in AFL 2012 the left thumb stick becomes disabled and I have to use the D-Pad which is uncomfortable. Any one else have this problem and is there a possible work around?

Just beat north by 5 goals on legend mode.

I think it's pretty stupid that the GOTY Edition Disc doesn't automatically have the updates on them. I don't have access to Xbox Live so I think that's a bit rich to spend $80-$90 on the same game and just to get GWS and 2012 Updates, I have to buy a Wireless adaptor for Xbox.

What jumpers have been changed? Can you finally select North's home jumper with white shorts? Does North's inverse Blue jumper have blue shorts?

This is where you now have to select a weak team such as the Gold Coast Suns or GWS..... then see how you go against Collingwood, Geelong etc :D

Done! :D That was fun.

Let me guess, there were 4 goals by cfc that you just couldnt stop, and two from cfc from when you were being too cute deep in the backline and the ball spilled out to a free pies player who kicked truly. You spoiled their pont through.

I'm never too cute in the backline. I think most were from ones they outmarked me on because the marking on legendary is stuffed.

Fair call.

I get cute when im bored of winning and want a contest. Plus when it works you look like a genius.

I'll eventually try it, i was just more focused on winning that time.
