Just gave GWS V Collingwood a couple tries on Legend with 3 min quarters. Best result was 10.13.73 to 1.2.8. Shit kicking i know, but it was just one of "those" games where even soccers off the ground in the goal square or no pressure kicks on the run from 25m out were missing. Jeez GWS are bloody frustrating to use though. So slow and no run. Obviously though that's the point, definitely have to think through your options more.

Might give the GC V Vic/All Stars a go tomorrow.

View-wise i think i use Side Balanced, it's the default one anyway.

Well, this was dissapointing.

I started playing the game again, this time bumping the qtr length to 5 minutes - the aim to be able to kick 100 goals over the season with 1 player (achievement whore). I would have done it in my initial season run through when i originally played... but i was less of a glory hog and shared goal scoring responsibilities.

This time my aim is to get Roughead and Franklin across the line (even though i technically only need one). I actually find Franklin more useful as a forward pocket, rather than on the half forward line, due to the way i play the game (Sam Newmans "kick it long" strategy) - the half forward line are rarely in the game (unless they rebound the ball after a failed kick in by the other side).

After changing the lineup (and ensuring Franklin goes back there after occasionally being made to play in the ruck by the cpu), i find that if the rest of the team does the job (North Melbourne, Fremantle, St Kilda have been "road blocks" as such and i have not been able to beat them by 30 - 100 points as i have other teams thus far) Franklin and Roughead can score 10-20 goals between them. Had Buddy kick 12 goals in one match..... would have been 15 had i been more accurate too.

I haven't achieved the trophy yet, despite playing through multiple seasons. I started a 3 min Legend season and I'm trying to kick a ton with Roughead. He had a huge game against the Swans, kicked 11 on LRT, but Jason Blake kept him goalless against the Saints. Kicking around 5-6 goals and I'm on track to do it. Loving the challenge.

How is this game on the Wii different to the Playstation? I have a Wii (well, it's the kids but I use it when they go to bed).

I'm pretty sure the Wii version's graphics would be worse than the Ps3/360/PC version due to the wii not being a HD Console with support for hdmi and it wasn't based as a high graphics console anyway.

Other than that i think the features are the same.

Right I own both versions, the Wii version definitely has a smoother learning curve, the HD consoles version looks a lot better, it doesn't have a career mode like the Wii version, you can create your own players, your own team and modify the squads.

They are way different, they were made by two different developers. The Wii version has a less realistic feel, but that certainly doesn't hinder it in any way. The PS3/360/PC version is made to be realistic but it does miss the mark by quite a margin. No offense to Ross or any of the Big Ant crew, I know that an AFL game is a huge challenge and you's gave it a brilliant shot :)

I have not tried the challenge yet, I have created a custom team with all of the least worth players from Adelaide, Brisbane, Carlton, Essendon, Freo, Geelong, Gold Coast and some of GWS. I have one custom player with maxxed out stats but I'm leaving him out of this match.

I am versing Victoria on 10 minute quarters on Legendary.
I will post how I went tomorrow morning if I have no issues (Crashes etc.)

On with the challenge :D

Ah fair enough, i knew it was made by someone different but thought the GOTY editions were all made by bigant.

GOTY editions is just a packaging promo from TruBlu. Not sure how much extra effort went in. :) I.e with AFL Live GOTY the DLC is not on the disc you get a code to D/L it.

Does anyone here know what game engine AFL Live uses? It could be a key to modding it :)

Obviously a custom engine made by BigAnt. There's no other AFL game engine out there so it's not like they could adpot one.

I wouldn't count it out, the previous AFL Live games from 2003-2007 were made by IR Gurus in the Renderware engine. I'm hopeful of modding news soon :)

PhyreEngine is the base engine that BigAnt used to build the game off.
