Toumpas and wines are both available at pick #4

Melbourne is on the clock

The demons pick who and why

I'll start it off

Pick wines because: as long as viney is there so will wines, I see him being a 200+ gamer

Pick toumpas because: rated by many as a top 3 and has played a lot of SANFL and played decent in it

Toumpas because he has a better outside game, more pace and is a better user of the ball. We already have a fair few inside mids with Viney, Mckenzie, Trengove, Jones etc and i think Toumpas would fit our needs of outside pace and spread. He is a go home risk though where as Wines would bleed red and blue. Toumpas is the high risk high reward prospect imo its a tough one.

I can't see GWS passing on Toumpas, I'd obviously love them to but I just can't see it happening.

Hogan, Viney and Toumpas...

Toumpas will be available and we will take him.

The Viney and Wines fairy tale is overplayed. When interviewed on radio (SEN) a few weeks ago Jack Viney was asked who he rated and who he'd like to be drafted to Melbourne with an early pick and he stated "Toumpas".

Toumpas had surgery on both his hips, he's a much riskier prospect than people think.

Haha, and in an interview today when asked who he'd like to most line up against in a match, Wines replied "Jack" as in his buddy Jack Viney. Reckon there'll be a good rivalry between the two in the coming years.

I don't think much of the first two, but I love Trengove and expect him to be better than ever in 2013.

And while Watts may not be a gun CHF, he's developing into at least a solid footballer that will be playing for Melbourne for a decade..

Perhaps the better example would have been Gysberts, Cook and Morton..

Anyway, from the limited amount I have seen of these two kids I would take Toumpas - yes he maybe the slightly riskier choice (hips, SA) but he is a gun, and has proven experience versus men. Not sure Wines would have played much against fully grown men. Perhaps someone could shed some light on that?

Anyway both will have an immediate impact you'd think, and both will go on to be very good players.

I'd go Toumpas. We have a need for outside class that he has. I have also heard his hips have been operated on and he is right to go for pre season.
Agree, i would go for Toumpas as well. More all round player. Can go back, forward, play inside mid or outside mid. He is also a quicker.
Lets hope the club does not do a 'Rocky' and pick up an unknown bum, ie an out of left field reach.
